Leatherheads (DVD, 2008, Widescreen)

George Clooney not only starred in this slapstick comedy, he also directed it. The movie may not win any awards, but it is enjoyable to watch. Since the movie took place in 1925, the writers took us back to that time, and slapstick was the rule. If you let yourself go and get into the movie, you will actually get the feel of that era. George is very talented, but I don't think he has a flair for comedy. Renee Zellweger and George share a chemistry together that works well for this movie. You may think this is a chick flick, but you would be somewhat wrong. The love angle doesn't really get going until the end. You will love the way they play pro football with very few rules, especially, the last game that is played in the mud. This is a cute movie, and I know they had a lot of fun making it, because it shows.

Though this film is successful with taking you back in time (and brings to mind some great oldies) and we enjoyed watching it, it's not one of those movies that you are dying to add to your home collection right after you've seen it.

There's some delightfully amusing, fast-paced dialog between George Clooney's character, Dodge Connelly, and Renée Zellweger's character, Lexie Littleton. Add Carter Rutherford played by John Krasinski to the mix and you have a splendid cast of sympathetic characters that are sure to please. With a unique plot and some interesting twists, this movie was fun and entertaining. However, it's not one that stays with you long after it's over.

I love John Krasinski he his just the best thing ever! This is a great movie and great actors. Its a clean, fun, differnt kind of movie that we need more of. I bust out laughing every time that I see it. Great story line and a lot of fun to watch. Thanks again

I am a huge George Clooney fan. This wasn't one of my favorites of his, although he played the part well. However, my 15 year old son absolutely LOVED this movie. So, I've ordered it for him for Christmas. He watched it over and over a few times and thought it was very funny.

I bought a dvd leatherheads.The movie was great and the price was wright.I look forward to buying more dvd's in the future. great dill.

Because of the football and a few small fist fights, there is mild violence in that respect. On the whole, I enjoyed it so much I purchased a copy to send to a priest friend over in Ireland who is a huge Packer fan. It is good clean fun.

I like the movie there was nothing i didn't like about it. I decide to buy it because seen some parts of the movie and i like it so thought buy it.

I have seen better films..Leatherheads does have a few funny scenes and lines here and there, but nothing great..actually sort of a boring film definitely not fast paced and kinda on tnhe lame side..the acting was ok..Zellweger isn't the most beautiful woman in the world though she does try to pretend she is..I found this movie stiff and lacking depth..all 3 of us fell asleep during this one! 2 out of 5 bars!

The idea and the cast were lost in a weak story, which never really worked. If on a star rating, then 1 Star.

Awesome price on this DVD. Got it for my father-in-law for christmas, without the headache of fighting the crowds in the stores!!! Accurate description, brand new, in original unopened packaging!!! Would definately recommend this movie for any guy with a pair and a sense of humor!!!

Good moral story and fun to watch. Solid performances all around, especially by Zellweger, as usual. Clooney always seems just a bit too smug for me in all of his performances. Quite enjoyable in any case.
