Learn to Read with Phonics - Volume 1: Letters and Words (DVD, 2005)

Tape was produced in the 80's....I'm a teacher and have seen lots of tapes...This is definitely one of the worst! Hokey and amateurish!

I bought this book to help my four year old grandson learn to read. He loves it and loves it. He thinks he is in school everyday when we play it.

My kids loves watching it; it is a great learning tool. My five and three-year-old watches it together. My five-year-old is in "K" and it has helped in keeping his mind active in words and in pace with his class. My three-year-old is advancing before his time because he has been active in learning with his brother. This is a good DVD for children two and up if they are into cartoons figures and television. I have my children watch learning tapes in place of regular television. My five-year-old teacher said she can tell. She said you can tell which parents work with their childrens educations and which does not. As parents we can make post cards of the letters and words from this DVD and work with our children after they have watched it. It helps with them remembering it and in building the skills they will need by the time they go to school. Again, it is a great learning tool and I recommend it to all parents with young children.

I choose this video because my son is having difficulties with letter recognition as well as speech articulation. While it only captured his interest for a few moments, I think this is a good video if you child is mature enough. He is saying some of the sounds he heard on the video so I know he picked up some things even if he wasn't 100% interested. This will also be helpfull for my other child who isn't to that point yet.

great tool for teaching the basics to children. Little old these need to be redone but kids don't notice such things.
