I love the gradual steps to an amazing end. The directions are clear and simply stated. Each square takes the knitter to a higher level and is full of surprise results. I normally stay away from patterns that require squares to be joined together because ones I have done become boring. BUT, this is like a mind bending puzzle and has never been boring. The squares are great to knit in the summer and traveling because of there size. If you want to learn to knit and have fun doing it, this is the book for you. I write in my book where and when I have finished the square. It have become sort of a diary.

I have been taking a knitting class in my local town. My teacher chose patterns out of this book to teach us the basics and move us through until we are advanced. I love doing the patterns out of this book. They are long enough that the new technique is thoroughly learned, but short enough that they keep your interest. I have completed 8 blocks now and done some on my own since I purchased the book myself. It is nice to feel like you have accomplished something beautiful when you are done with one of these blocks.
