A good foundation for your curriculum.

I purchased this book to use for homeschooling my daughter, which I must do on a very tight budget. I used the Grade 1 edition last year, so I knew what to expect. I would not recommend buying this on impulse to teach your child from exclusively. As with any homeschool program, using this curriculum requires some planning ahead.
As a very basic foundation, this book is quite sufficient. It's a good outline, but you will have to flesh it out quite a bit with supplemental worksheets and materials. If you are looking for this to be an inexpensive, all-inclusive curriculum you will be disappointed. The recommended books in each weekly plan can typically be found at your local library and if you are planning far enough ahead, you can easily research acceptable substitutes if you find your library does not have the one you need.
This curriculum could work for anyone who is homeschooling on a shoe-string budget, such as I am, or to the homeschooling parent who does not want a religious element infused into every subject. If you are looking for a good, low-cost, basic outline to work from, and not afraid to put some work into rounding it out, then this book will be very helpful.
