Since Lazer-Guided Melodies Spiritualized have had to endure the vagaries of indie credibility, but their musical blueprint has altered little from their powerful debut. Picking up where his former band Spaceman 3 had left off, Jason Pierce refined his exploration of trance-rock with elaborate arrangements and more sympathetic production values. The uptempo "Run" and "Angel Sigh" hinted at the band's awesome live sound, but the album's true heart is found in the blissed-out nirvana of tracks such as "Symphony Space," "Sway" and "200 Bars."

Editorial Reviews
Included in Q's list of the 50 Best Albums Of 1992.
Q (01/01/1993)

Highly Recommended - ..a delightful, inventive effort..
Spin (08/01/1992)

Ranked #73 in NME's list of the `Greatest Albums Of All Time.'
NME (10/02/1993)

..a seductive, sedative listening experience...one heady trip..
Option (09/01/1992)

3 stars out of 5 - ...Cinemascopic, quasi-orchestral dronescapes topped off by Pierce's indolently narcotic vocals: the early Velvet underground jamming with later-era Pink Floyd...
