Love Laurel and Hardy but a little dissapointed to see that most of the films were silent. For me film is sound and picture. I just cant stretch to laugh at the silence. So, if you like the silent era of Laurel and Hardy, jump at this with two hands outstretched, if you prefer to hear something when you put the volume up to 42 then turn elsewhere.

I havent seen Laurel and Hardy movies since I was a kid, so I bought some on ebay, I received them fast but they werent what I was looking for. Out of two DVDs there were only two movies, and all the rest were short black and white and silent. I didnt even know they made that many silent movies.

What can you say about something of such poor quality. Other than the box you would assume it was made in someone's basement. Only TWO out of the fourteen are not Silent and at least one of the Silent episodes does not even have background music. Horrible!

I decided to purchase a DVD, with quite a bit of episodes on it due to the fact they don't show them on T.V. anylonger and they should instead of the negative films they show kids today. I for one have purchased a lot of the good old shows.

Thank You,

I decided to buy the item (Laurel & Hardy - 2004 DVD) because I've always thought thet they were the best comedy team that's ever been. Being able to find stuff like this, with the help of Ebay and PayPal, previously, was practically non-existant.
I mean, where else on Earth, back even 30 years ago, could you look for (and find) a fish fossil... a watermelon rock, a new and affordable set of stilts, a key date coin in great condition, etc...? Before Ebay came along, I was at the mercy of local exibitions, auctions, flea markets, etc.
I still don't have a complete collection of Laurel & Hardy's works, and I probably will never have, but as long as I have this connection/ability via ways of finding them and paying for them, I'm gonna keep looking for more, I'm sure, 'til the day I die.
I have a spotless record with Ebay (something like 135 buys & 100% positive feedback), and that will never be compromised by this guy, I'll tell ya.
I never want to lose the priviledge of being able to find what I need, when I need it.
Ebay...? You ROCK!
The Mainiac Cowboy

P.S. What am I rating... the title I included or the review I typed...?
What the heck... I'll rate it "excellent"...! ;-)

The Good old days are still funny! This DVD set was many silent film shorts of Laurel and Hardy.... does anyone in the iPod generation even know what a silent movie was? Or how funny they were? For all the ameteur videographers out there, look and see what funny men did with less resources than you have on you cellphone. It is inspiring, Dude! Lou Sauer

As you may know, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy were comedians in the early 1920's and I am not sure when they stopped making films. I bought these dvd's to watch and to reminisce about my early childhood. This product rates very high and I believe it is a testament of how far the film industry has gone to save classic old films from being destroyed.
