Well told tail about the highest ranking firefighter that survived the World Trade Center disaster. Listening to him tell his story only made that day all the more real to those of us who could only watch on television. Found new information about the number of buildings involved and feel that it was a miracle that anyone survived the attack. Hope someone investigates why these brave men had radios that were inadequate. Why were they not supplied with the safety equipment that the firefighters deemed necessary to do their jobs. Budget cuts = lives lost. Perhaps equipment would not have helped these heros at the Trade Center but why are they not better equipped by the City of New York to do the job they do? Recommended reading.

This book didn't hold my attention. I started to read it several times but couldn't get past the first few pages. I was disappointed but then again maybe someone else will love it. I will pass it on to a friend

I have been a volunteer fireman in Michigan for 9 years. I have met Chief Picciotto at a presentaion when the came out, and I have a autographed copy of the Last Man Down. I have read it twice now, once about 4 years ago, and just finished it a month ago. I am not the type to read a book unless it keeps my interest, and this one does just that! Both times I could not put it down!! Pitch told it like it was left nothing out, and thats what makes it so good. I loved this book and have bought it for my friends, who all have enjoyed reading it.
