The Last Legion (DVD, 2007)

The movie was quite fun to watch with just the right amount of action and drama without the overacting and no doubt was complemented by the acting of Ben Kingley and Colin Firth.

I seen the previews and it seemed like a good movie?
instead of renting it I went to imdb and they rated it a 5.4 but imdb has been wrong before so when I bought it on ebay.. i sat down with my 9 year old and watched it. boy did I enjoy this movie it had action ,comedy and a well scriped story line. i jumped up and down a few times during the movie claping and laughing and all into the flick! it's a keeper

Great story, great time in history...and the ending folds it all together because we really do need a few more heroes.

i don't know much about the movie. because i didn't get the movie, not because of the seller. it's because of my mailman he thinks he might of gave it to someone else, but i think it would of been a great movie.

This is a Okay prequel to King Authur, it is straight to video so dont expect any high budget special effects. There are many battle scenes, but they are small scale with little or no blood. There characters are pretty dull and the ating is not very good. There is a very good looking female co star, never seen her in anything else but I hope to see more of her in other films. The film takes place at the fall of the Roman Empire. The Goths invade and conquer Rome. The last Emporer is a little boy who flees to Britian with Julius Caesars sword, that has some magic powers, but dont get your hopes up, there not great.

So the boy goes to Britian with half a dozen lame bodyguards and Merlin played by Ben Kingsley who you might think would save the movie but makes it worse, but there is a smoking hot bodyguard that goes with them too, adds to the realism, am I right? When they get to Britian to find the last Legion, they deserted, they find them pretty quickly. Together they fight a new even more stupid enemy, led by some Nobody in a stupid mask.

Overall, a okay movie, but would recommend watching when it's comes on Sci-Fi Channel. Dont waste money renting or buying

I really like like this verision of the King Arthur Lengend. This is a more truth and well written movie that I'll watch again and again

AWESOME! Colin Firth is so incredibly sexy in this movie. Much different than in Relative Values and Pride and Prejudice!
The History and the fighting is wonderful!

A cross between "Braveheart" and "Willow," this is a family movie that doesn't disappoint!
Sir Ben (Kingsley) is always a favorite, as is the multi-talented Colin Firth!
Great to see him reunited with a couple of his on-screen kids from "Nanny McPhee"!
Truly, my husband & I both relished this wonderful action film!

The Last Legion is a VERY GOOD MOVIE, for which we HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Honestly, half of the family likes these type Roman/Sparta movie, and the other half doesnt, but WE ALL ENJOYED The Last Legion from beginning to end. It kept our attention without a problem, carrying a very good storyline, and a great cast. If you enjoyed 300, you'll enjoy this. The action doesnt compare in detail and gore as it does in 30, but its still good and viewer-friendly.

Our Overall Rating: 8.5-9.0/10

It is definitely a movie we will watch again and are HAPPY TO OWN!

Have I seen such fantastic script writing, acting and sword play..this movie has it all..action, adventure, love, comedy..Any Xena fan and non Xenite will be entranced by this film! The script was well written, the acting is top of the line and the sword play was the type that left you on the edge of your seat..we especially loved the ending..if you love action, adventure and romance then this is the movie for you..Hoping against hope for a sequal!! Be aware this film is a Block Buster exclusive..

I try it because i like all medieval tales and this movie surprise me by the quality of the actors and the good story too. You have to see it if you can. A must.

This is NOT a high budget movie and a little slow paced. I didn't fall asleep and in the future will watch it again. I would give it a 5 out of 10.

Delightful historical fiction. Some truths (such as the last Roman emperor's name: Romulous Augustus Ceasar and his age, 13 yrs. old, the barbarian usurper, Oedecar, and Romulous's exile to the coast, all left me breathless...finally, a movie with at least a thread of historical accuracy.) It's not surprising that THE LAST LEGION was not a Hollywood production, because they would not have even left this morsel of real history intact. Having said that, the rest of the movie was fiction, but it was presented in such a charming way that even diehard historical purists could take a break from reality and revel in the fantasy.

The film wasnt that historically accurate, but not bad overall. Remember, its a PG rating for the family, though in my terms, it lacks the intensity of combat, realism, and accuracy. It trys to appeal to everyone in its, own way.

My kids liked it, even my 2 year old girl, but failed in my opinion to be dramatic. They should have tried to simplify it.

Rent or buy King Arthur.
