Last House on the Left (DVD, 2002, Widescreen & Full Frame)

2 girls out in the city meet the wrong kind of people and end up being kidnapped, raped and murdered. Coincidentally the murderers end up asking for help from one of the girl's parents. Once the parents realize who they are dealing with they take justice into their own hands.

When released in theaters there were warnings about the violence in the movie and has posters that just said "It's only a movie...it's only a movie". Worked great in getting people to the theaters and even had reports of people fainting!

I love horror movies and think Wes Craven is a master of his craft, but Last House on the Left is not a favorite of mine. I was actually disappointed when I watched it. I have no problem with low budget production - actually prefer that in horror films, makes them grittier - and the basic story is fantastic. But the acting leaves a lot to be desired and while the basic story is great once it is fleshed out it loses something and just becomes cheesy.

Still, for real horror fans this is a must see. It is more violent than gory and has some graphic scenes.

you can defently tell this is a 70's movie, around the time of the hippies. but who doesn't love Wes Craven and his films. i liked this movie! it is something that could actually happen. you know how your parents were, when you were growing up, "you will get kidnapped and rapped". watching this movie was a trip. and it seems like it's real. this is a very contraversal movie. it does have rape, gore and sexual act's. but very realistic and i really liked it. a good story line, you won't be able to take you eye's off it and you will be speechless at times! this is a wonderful edition to anyone's horror collection! buy it! did this help?

Any film can be a regular kind of scary. But this is scary in the sense that it could happen to any body even yourself. A monster movie would be a regular king of scary. But this film is scary in both of those senses. This movie is about two young girls who want to go to a rock concert. They meet a few seemingly nice boys along the way not knowing those boys are sadistic convicts who escaped from a prison. Once the boys got the girls where they want them they. Take them into some woods where they rape torture and kill them. later the boys decide to tay in someones house for the night the boys not knowingly stayed in one of the girls house they murdered. The parents find out and kill the gang of boys.

this is an old movie and i remember seeing the 1st time at the theater with my sister and it was a very scary movie back then one not for kids that is for sure maybe teenagers just to show them what can happen when you think you know everything now-a-days!! but it is an old movie so the graphics arent that great and the creey stuff such as blood and all that you can tell it is fade now where as back then that ws the norm!!

I like the fact that the copy is original and was in good condition and the price was great too. The only thing was that it wasn't wrapped in the original plastic. Not that that is a big deal but it would have been nice.

wasn't able to watch the movie it says wrong reginal disk and won't play. I bought the movie because I like scary movies but if it won't play then I can't say anything good about it

it was what i remembered but not as scarey i know it was back in the 70s i can remember being freaked out its more of a mind game. it doesnt show what they are doing like they do now days. you just have to imagine worth buying!

Loved the movie - disliked some of the content. It is a good movie with twists and bends taking you on a dark journey. How could this happen? We loved the portrayals by the seemingly unknown actors. This had to be a difficult film to produce. It is worth watching - just in case you missed it in the 70s!!!

heard about it, Wes Craven is a good guy, Movie is not for casual moviegoers, it has alot of rough scenes, rape scenes, and gruesome revenge scenes by the parnets of one of the girls

aaaahhh..brings back old times.... lol! saw this movie at the drive in and it scared and grossed out the crap outta me! loved it.

HMMM, SAD WHAT HAPPENS.. BUT THIS IS ONE DVD I REGRET BUYING. IT IS ONE THAT U CAN SEE ONCE AND THAT IS ENOUGH. AND WHILE YOUR WATCHING IT. U DONT REALLY WANT TO FINISH. U CAN TELL THIS WAS MADE WAY BACK WHEN.. OH WELL..LIKE I SAID IS SAD WHAT HAPPENS TO THE GIRLS. BUT I WOULDNT OF BOUGHT IT, I PROBABLY SHOULD OF RENTED IT FIRST.. JEWELS

My movie that I ordered was exact and the commuincation could of been a bit better. Other than that is was good.

Certainly not for the fainthearted, THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT remains one of the most visceral horror films ever made.

Heard this movie was a very scary movie (I am a horror movie freak). So I finally found and purchased it. My rating of the movie is that if I had seen it in the 70's (time placed)it probably would have freaked me out. Otherwise, it wasn't bad, but if Wes Craven redid this movie he would knock our socks off.

This movie was good, but it wasn't the one I thought it was. Although it wasn't, I still thought it was good. So, if you like movies set in 70's fashion, check this one out!

I SAW THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT FIRST TIME, A LONG TIME AGO.WHEN I WAS IN HIGHSCHOOL ABOUT 15 YEARS OLD.SO I WANTED TO SEE THIS AGAIN AND THIS DVD IS UNKNOWN IN GREECE NOW.

Movie was excellent. This was Wes Cravens first of many horror masterpieces. The low budget gritty 70's horror movie at its best. Thank you Wes :)

I loved this movie.
It had a different feel from the rest of Craven's movies but you could still definately tell it was a Craven film.
This movie is surprising along with realistically horrible. The things that happen in the movie could very well happen to you. I just happen to think that those are the best kinds of horror movies. They hit close to home.

This movie was probubly one of the worst horror movies Ive ever seen. I give it a 5/5 because it made me laugh the whole way through. The one actor sounded just like bozo the clown, the music made me think I was at a circus, the acting was a joke, pretty much you should only watch this if you want to laugh.

This movie was poorly filmed (poor film quality), poor acting, poor everything. I had read online how terrifying, etc. is was and after watching it, I just laughed! If you want to see it, I would recommend renting it. Don't waste your money!!

I BOUGHT THE MOVIE FOR MY BOYFRIEND HE SAID IT WAS A GOOD MOVIE. I WATCHED IT WITH HIM AND I THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD MOVIE FOR YOUNG TEENAGERS TO WATCH SO THEY WILL KNOW WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN GOING OUT. IT SHOWS THEM NOT TO TRUST JUST EVERYBODY THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW. I LOVE THE MOVIE.
