Last of the Dogmen (DVD, 1999, Special Edition)

This movie was the first movie my husband and I watched together in 1996 we loved it so much because I'm of Native American Herritage ,It was also the first movie we bought(vhs )at the time.A year later we were married a we bought it on DVD when that came out . My Husband accidently left it in a player that broke due to a power surge he didn't know it was in there and at the time you buy the movie everywhere for less than $10.00 now of course when my husband said Honey we really need our movie I couldn't find it anywhere except e.bay and pay a small fortune, The first two I bought out of the UK and did not know about regions as far as movies go was a total loss and the sad thing about that was the price was cheap like here when it first came out .I'm now left with 2 of these movies that can't be watched or returned. I've lurned my lesson and will not buy from the uk unless it is region free or maybe something else I may be looking for . As far as the movie it is a must see ,It prompted me to start my collection of real hand made native american peacepipes,flutes bow & arrows Dreamcatchers ,and so forth my home is decorated native american I do need a cerimonial Drum and afew other pieces but time will tell . ,But as far as the movie Last of the dogmen it is absolutly wonderful and should never have been discontinued , I hope I don't have to pay as much again if needed but I know how people are they find out and see dollar signs, NOT ME ! I hope this review helped you and yours , but I did learn my lesson.. Thank You .
I'm affraid to look on ebay for my collection as far as Indian (authintic )Native american works from the things I mentioned to there wonderful Music (flutes and drums ) POW WOW

This is a must have. This movie is hard to find but worth the hunt. This is my husbands favorite movie and with the DVD you get neat special features, like original costume sketch gallery.

Excellent Movie! Romance, intrigue, action, mystery and adventure all rolled up into one movie. Definitely worth the time to view - possibly the best movie you've never seen!

Its my favorite movie. A story thats about the last of the indians of the dog soldiers.I dont fee l like some of the movies show reality but this one did. If you like some of the old versions of how people lived back in time , youd like this movies. I just went out to Seattle and I was right there in Montana where the oxbow is located. From the interstate it is so barren today , so imagine whtat it was back in time a 100 years ago.

Highly desirable movie. Story about a man that accidentally finds a tribe of natives that do not want anything to do with today's world. A must see!!

I loved this movie. It has a phenomenal cast and the acting is superb. Very real and life-like depiction. Very entertaining. Definitely recommend this movie to all movie goers.

This movie is a really awesome story. I have seen this movie several times and it is one of those that I can keep watching. I highly recommend this movie. It really made me wonder about the possibilities of a lost and forgotten being in existance. That would be so awesome to stumble on, wouldn't it?

VERY DISAPOINTED :(

Could not watch it as the format only allowed for watching it in Yugoslovia. I bought it because I have seen it before and loved the movie. I never see it on TV anymore and wanted a copy of my own so that I could watch it when I wanted to.

I bought this DVD thinking I could just pop it in my DVD player and enjoy it. I paid top dollar for it. I get in in the mail and go to watch it and it won't play on USA DVD players. I guess it's from Great Britian or someplace. That was NOT CLEAR when I bought it. I am very disappointed. I was definitely ripped off.

I bought "Last of the Dogman" because I really wanted it in a DVD. Have had VHS. Wore one out watching this movie. It is a great movie and will watch it until my eyes don't see anymore. The service was great! As soon as I paid for the DVD, it must have been on its way. The quality of the DVD was also great.eBAY is doing great handling any problems or concerns we may have. I enjoy westerns and outdoor locale films. This particular DVD has been out of circulation for some time. I was fortunate to locate several sources on e-bay and participated in auctions until I won the item. Great movie.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. I have to watch it at least once a year. The storyline is very good. I love stories about native americans and this is one of the best.

it was a very good story about people going into the ox bow and finding a lost tribe of dog soldier and learning for them and the fear of what modern men would do to them

We have the movie on VHS and like it so much that we need to have the movie on DVD. Tom Berringer unravels a mystery finding Comanche Indians living in the Montana wilderness.

The scenery is gorgeous and the acting is superb. Tom Berenger plays the role perfectly as does Barbara Hershey. The story line makes you wonder. Jip the dog adds humor to the script. Had seen it before and wanted to add it to my collection. Will watch it with my grandchildren. Good movie!!!

I wanted the DVD because I liked the story when I had it on
VHS. My only complaint concerns the cutting of Wilfred Brimley's background dialogue where he provides the viewer w/interesting info concerning the situation/Lewis Gates (Berenger) feelings.

Otherwise, this is a very good movie/story.

Great movie, to watch time & again!
Tom Berenger is a bit chubby, in this one, but still quite a hottie!
Barbara Hershey is very good as his love interest.
Always great, to see some of the Native American actors who were in "Dances With Wolves" & "Son of the Morning Star." They truly need to be featured in more movies, perhaps in starring roles.
The storyline is very enchanting, & even the little dog was lovable!

I Paid For The Video And It Was Withheld From My Account Over A Month Ago I Still Haven,t received it or any response from seller. I would like the video or my money back. I am not very happy about this transaction.

I loved this movie the first time I watched it when I was younger. Now that I am older and getting my movie collection larger I just had to have this movie in my collection. This movie is one of the greats and hard to find on DVD in good condition. I found this listing used but in great shape and I couldn't let it slip through my fingers a little exspensive but this movie is worth every penny.

great story set in a beautiful wilderness. excellent acting, and it makes us see, once again, how little regard we have for the native american indian. you cant help but feel anger for the degredation our government has inflicted on such a noble and significant part of what is american history.

I went to see this movie in the theater when it came out and fell in love with it. It has action, suspence, romance and humor, the scenery is breathtaking. What more could you want in a movie? I purchased a previously rented VHS, but it was getting worn. It took me a while to find it on DVD, but I'm glad I did. It is a timeless movie that you can watch with the whole family. If you like a great western, this is it.

Great movie for the guys and girls!! Enough action to keep the men interested with a hit of a love story for the girls. Tom Beringer is an excellent actor!! As is Krikwood Smith.
