Album Notes
Personnel: Amos Lee (guitar); Doyle Bramhall Jr. (guitar); Spooner Oldham (keyboards); Pino Palladino (bass instrument); James Gadson (drums).
The third album from singer-songwriter Amos Lee plows a similar vein as his debut and sophomore releases, which is to say it is full of bittersweet songs that draw from folk, soul, pop, and adult alternative genres. Lee's voice can be full of bluesy grit ("Truth"), croon in the vein of Al Green ("Won't Let Me Go"), or clip and bite phrases like Dylan ("Listen"). He is also able to synthesize these different modes in artful fashion, which is what makes LAST DAYS AT THE LODGE such an engaging listen, solidly supported by producer Don Was plus heavy-hitter musicians such as bassist Pino Paladino, keyboardist Spooner Oldham, and drummer James Gadson.

Editorial Reviews
[A]s a singer, he's sublime. He unleashes a heretofore unheard Al Green falsetto on 'Won't Let Me Go' and 'Jails and Bombs'....His soaring, supple tenor is a consistent highlight.
Paste

[H]e has much more intelligent songs than your average rocker, and as a soul man he can sing sweeter than Sam Cooke.
