The Last DJ [ECD] by Tom Petty (CD, Oct-2002, Warner Bros. Records Record Label)

You have got to be kidding me! I am the first person the right a review for this cd? Tom Petty is a rock legend and he is only getting better album after album! This cd is awesome. Enought said. Buy yourself a copy if you don't already have one. My fave is track two (Money became King) but all are great. Can't wait for his new album Highway Companion later this month!

Some of the best Petty stuff done. Classic Petty feel to this one - you'll enjoy. Laid-back feel, nice acoustic blend of instruments.

Being a Petty & Heartbreaker hardcore fan, I don't suppose some else would consider my review unbiased. That said, if you are looking for a time piece / jewel of a CD, the LAST DJ is a smart choice. This was done during the time Petty had gone through a lot of personal issues with the music industry big wigs and eventually won his battle, and for the betterment of the musicians as a whole during that time.

ECHO was another all time favorite. If you really want to enjoy Petty in a time of great inspiration, seek the Traveling Wilbury's. You can also check them out on YouTube.com

The Last DJ is Petty's BRILLIANT masterpiece!!! All my feelings about the music industry and pop culture in general are represented beautifully here. When people ask why I hate the music industry so much I point them to this album and explain that Petty gets the message across better than I ever could.

Several years ago scientists created a program that would predict a hit song and help the music industry produce a product that was sure to sell. The artist and the DJ are obsolete. The Machine is the future. No wonder none of the songs on this album were hits. True music/art lovers pay attention. Every single song here should have been a number one hit!
