  Amelia Peabody Series Season 1897-1898
Review created: 01/09/08
by:

Elizabeth Peters has written a charming series of stories with Amelia Peabody as the storyteller. The 18 book series is a progressive story of her family, their annual archeological excavations in Egypt, and mystery mixed with danger.

The Last Camel Died at Noon is a pivotal story. It explains how Nefret Forth is added to their family. She becomes a major character in the series.

Elizabeth Peters is a great story teller. If you read one of these books and become enchanted with her characters, you will seek out the remaining books to read.

  Intrepid Victorian Archaeologist Amelia Peabody
Review created: 03/15/07

I just love the Amelia Peabody stories. The daring Victorian "old Maid" at 30 finds happiness when she travels to Egypt and falls in love with her husband the dashing archaeologist Emerson. They have one child, a precocious boy nicknamed Ramses. Elizabeth Peters uses her knowledge of Egyptology to write these wonderful mysteries that are detailed in historical facts. This book is the 6th in the series. Highly recommend it.
