Movie Description
In this 19-century-set BBC drama, a woman discovers the differences between two towns in the English countryside when she leaves her native village. Laura Timmins (Olivia Hallinan) is from quiet and traditional Lark Rise, but when she takes a job at nearby Candleford, she is surprised by her new city’s progress. With her new boss, postmistress Dorcas Lane (Julia Sawalha), as her guide, she learns to navigate the streets and its people, but soon discovers that there is unrest amongst Candleford’s people. Brimming with humor and heart, LARK RISE TO CANDLEFORD also stars Mark Heap, Victoria Hamilton, Claudie Blakely, and Dawn French. This release includes the series’ first season.
