No one can be Lara Croft except Angelina

Great action, good special effects. Angelina was smoking in her costume. I bought the DVD and have seen it a few times on TV but the bluray doesn't compare to either.

Blu Ray edition of Lara Croft Fails to dissapoint

A modern day Indiana Jones.I already liked this movie. Its one of the best (of a very few)of the game to movie genre out there. (Remember Mario Bros and Wing Commander?) The HD Disk ranfer is clean and the sound is great. Its even better than the HD-DVD format release in that the extras that were on the Standard DVD are included as well as the teaser and launch trailers that are not on the previous standard DVD release. Rumor has is a 3rd movie is in the works, unfortuantely, Angelina Jolie will most likely not reprise her role. Hopefully the sequel will show up on Blue Ray as well.

One of the cases were blu ray kills the effects!

Blu-ray technology has bring a new way to see movies they look crystal clear and the sound really brings the movie to life but in this movie since it has lots of special effects you can see how poor the effects looks on the blu-ray disc a big turn off; this movie its worth keeping on your regular DVD and so its the 2nd part looks better and you can really enjoy the movie instead of being distracted by the poor computer effects.

Not the greatest, still worth adding to the collection

While not the best of the two Tomb Raiders it is still a fun action adventure yeah the cheese factor did make a very steep climb with the statues coming to life but I recall that being a part of the game as well so... On the flip side the video conversion to high def was mediocre at best. None of the effects or backdrops really stood out as other movies do, I think it is in part with Paramount distributing the movie in both Blu-ray and the now dead HD-DVD. The movie does seem to be of HD-DVD level of quality (it is noticable despite the claims the last remaining HD-DVD owners) as opposed to Blu-ray's level picture clarity. Hopefully Paramount will readjust for this given they restart their Blu-ray distrobution (I wonder how many times they kicked themselves in the ass for their decision last summer to go exclusive to HD-DVD dropping Blu-ray).

This movie is excellent! Angelina Jolie does a fantastic job at playing Lara Croft.

The movie begins with Lara Croft finding a mysterious clock (which holds an ancient artifact) in her home, and begins trying to figure out what it may be. Unfortunately for her some mercenaries break into her home and manage to steal the ancient artifact. Lara travels to various locations to try to get it back. As more problems arise she begins to find out about the secret life of her deceased father, and a secretive group called the Illuminati (of which her father was part of).

A definite must have for any Lara Croft fan.
