There are 3 releases of this book. I am giving the same review for all. The author recalls her early life in upstate New York with an American mother and Jordanian father, whose bouts of homesickness for Jordan often had the family returning there for periods of time. Along with her reminiscences, Abu-Jaber includes recipes for many of the dishes she describes in the book.

) i received it in the mail very quickly and started reading it right away. it was excellent and i related to it so much because i came to America from the middle east at 9 years of age. the receipes were great to see on paper because we cook by hand and not write down the receipes. I ask my mom on those that i don't know and she says she'll get to it some day. excellent book.
