Landscape Quilts by Nancy Zieman, Natalie Sewell (2001, Paperback, Illustrated)

I LOVE THIS BOOK! It is concise, to the point and very understandable from the view of a beginner to an expert in constructing fabric landscapes. The photos and drawings offer a clear and up close view so one can "see" the progress of the project. The hints and tips were very helpful for me and really gave me ideas on other projects and how to get from Point A to Point B. I am in debt to Nancy and her writing partner and will refer to this publication many times over. Trish in Redmond, OR.

I loved this book! It was in excellent shape, had a great price, and oh my! oh my! oh my! the patterns and instructions! It is easy to understand and easy to do. I had always wondered how people made these type of landscape quilts and NOW I KNOW too! I am so glad these ladies made this book!

TRANSACTION WENT WELL. NO PROBLEMS NOTED. THE BOOK IS GREAT. LOTS OF INFO AND GREAT IDEAS. I WOULD RECOMEND IT TO ANYONE . IT SHOWS BEGINNING TO EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTIONS. I HAVE ALREADY SHARED THE BBOK WITH MY FRIENDS. AND THEY ARE NOW INJOYING THE BOOK AS WELL.

This is a book I have searched for over the past couple of years. The price was right, reasonable shipping and BUY IT NOW. The instructions and illustrations are clear and easy to follow. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn or expand your landscaping quilt skills. This information is also easily transfered to art projects or wall hangings.

I purchased this book because I have several of Nancy Zieman's books and have enjoyed them. This one is a bit different. In the rural midwest, it is near impossible to duplicate, or even come close to the fabrics used (of course you can always shop online IF you're willing to put off beginning your project!!), BUT. . .if you just need inspiration and can be adaptable with fabrics you CAN locate, the book is a winner. I wish more time had been spent on composition, spacing, etc. And, while they say NOT to use fusibles, I find them to be the only way to secure very thin, or very long pieces, without tearing them -- the glue stick is just too much for fragile pieces. My first piece was probably half the size of most of the projects pictured (about 28 x 25), the tall trees and very long stems on large projects is pretty intimidating!! Other than these minor concerns, my only problem is in trying to decide when I've actually FINISHED a piece!!
