I'm on the way to the video store to rent this movie, and then get my bid on ebay to buy! I just loved it at the theatre. My daughter asked me "how did this happen". The time warp . . . and I had to say I don't know. What I do know is that the chemistry between the characters is so palpable that the viewer is able to suspend reality and go along with the plot.
The basic premise is that Bullock leaves her glass house on the lake and puts a note into the mailbox for the new tenant. Reeves is the recipient of the note, but the kicker is that the two are two years apart in time, Reeves having been the previous tenant. They continue to correspond through the notes, and there is that sense of suspended animation when you wonder if they will meet, etc.
It's a chick flick without a doubt and there will be moments when the tears will flow. If you could use a little romance, and are willing to suspend your disbelief, you will thoroughly enjoy the movie! (For me, it didn't hurt that I love to look at Keanu Reeves!)
