Story line is very interesting. I love how this Indian village community transforms one by one, then eventually transforms whole region.
I have forgotten the time as I watch this movie. The ending will make you want to rejoice, and make you want to staty playing the clicket.
Must watch filem if you have Indian friends or coworkers.
I have seen many Holleywood and Bolleywood movies, but none is as delightful as this one.

In my opinion this movie received more attention than it deserved. No doubt it is better than average bollywood fare, but I do not see how it deserved to be nominated for Oscars. Camerawork is good, story is 'good' (make it 'better' for cricket fans or those who understand it) and lead actor, Aamir Khan, is quite popular in India. But other than that there is nothing on offer.

) I don't like many Hindi musicals, but this one will be a definite favorite. What I really liked were the songs...after you see the movie, you'll want to go and buy the soundtrack. The characters seem very genuine (they speak a dialect one would speak if they live in a village isolated from a city), and pathos was very well used to get the audience to loathe the British officers. Elizabeth is a very pretty character, and what she felt for Bhuvan was really romantic. However, I think the fact that she learned a fairly good amount of Hindi in one day and the fact that she says she doesn't have friends isn't so believable. Besides that, I think the movie is really good, whether or not you've watched a Bollywood movie before.

Lagaan the movie
) This is a wonderful Indian movie. The singing is awesome. You learn about cricket, a strange English game. The movie is just fun. I would recommend it to anyone.

LAGAAN is a musical drama which tells the story of Bhuvan, a caring young farmer from central India, and of a Indian farming village in Victorian times and what they must go through in order to survive. The people of the village has not had any rain for 2 years and await the monsoons in order for their crops to grow. A British Captain wants double lagaan(taxes) on the crops from the villagers. It ends up that the Captain will triple the lagaan if the villagers do not win a game of cricket, a game as foreign to them as it is to most Americans. Bhuvan (Aamir Khan)begins to teach the villagers the game with the help of the Captains' sister. They must win the game in order to not pay lagaan for 2 years or the Captain will triple the lagaan if they lose.
The movie, the dancing, the choreography are wonderful and the music is enchanting and one is more than tempted to sing along with the movie. Wonderful!
