OUTSTANDING!!! Erotic - Passionate - Amazing Writer!!!
Review created: 06/16/08(updated 06/16/08)

THE LADY'S TUTOR is one of the best books I have read...and a copy will remain on my keeper shelf.
It is a story of a wife and a mother of 2 sons (11 & 15), who has endured 16 years of a passionless, self sacrificing, sterile marriage. Celibate after the conception of her youngest son due to her husbands cold indifference. She craves the loving touch of a man, so swallowing her fear and humiliation she goes to the only man she knows that can teach her the erotic secrets of loving. This is not a book about adultery or the breaking of her marriage vows. Contrary, her determination is to entice her cold unloving husband to simply want her, to love her. She blames herself and believes her inadequacy as a woman has driven her husband to a mistress and kept him there all these years.
Secrets...Danger...a world of depravity begin to unravel in her pursuit.
This story was so much more than an erotic love story...it is a story of a woman who has endured years of an unloving marriage and who has reached a point where she will do whatever she can to heal it - for it as well as the love of her sons, is her life... one she is committed to.
I recommend this book for readers who want more than just a titillating erotic read. It is erotic, but it is also a passionate love story, with strongly defined characters, intrigue, depravity and loss of innocence and broken dreams... It is a story of attitudes and depravity of men, women and politics of the era. And ultimately of a woman - daughter, wife, mother - whose beliefs, values and very life takes an abrupt turn into the harsh light of reality. And leads ultimately to the passion and love her soul craves. Excellent writing!

The British fixation with sex & politics continues in real 21st century life & 20th century portraits of fictional 19th century life. Thank goodness Liberal Tony Blair & his spouse are so much more endearing than Robin Shone's 19th century British Conservative PM! The contrast between the prevailing social mores is quite revealing... late 19th century England reminds one so strongly of early 21st century U.S.!
