LADY AND THE TRAMP 50TH ANNIVERSARY DVD

Lady and the tramp happens to be one of the most charming and feel good disney films ever. Limited issue barebone dvd of the film was available at a high price for quite sometime which is in moratorium now. Everyone was sure about disney's double dipping here. The platinum edition was expected for quite sometime and finally it will be here on feb28. As usual, the film will wear a never-seen-before look as it has been digitally remastered in hi definition. Also, there will be loads of extras on the second disc to fulfill every fan's need.

Here's all that one can expect in this release:

1. Main feature with high definition digital transfer

2. Aspect ratios 2.35:1 16:9, 1.33:1

3. DD 5.1 EHT and DD mono tracks

4. Two deleted sequences

5. 1943 storyboard version of the film

6. "Lady's Pedigree: The Making of Lady and the Tramp"

7. "Finding Lady: The Art of the Storyboard"

8. Disney Virtual Puppy DVD-ROM

9. music video

10. "PuppyPedia", "Disney Dog Trivia" virtual board game

11. Screencaps from first DVD....and more!!!

A must own Disney classic with lots of bonus material

This is one of the everlasting Disney classic movies and one that will be forever timeless. If you and your family haven't added it to your collection, you should go out and immediately get it.

This Platinum Edition release has two discs and tons of extras. The movie has been digitally restored (pircture and sound) and it is much nicer to watch than the previous and much brighter. There is an added Bella Notte music video, deleted scenes, original storyboard version of the film, making of the movie, art of the storyboard. Games and activities included are Disney Virtual Puppy (DVD ROM), Disney Dog Trivia (Virtual Board Game), PuppyPedia: Going to the Dogs (Breed learning), Inner Bark: Personality Profile.

The movie is viewable as Widescreen (2.55:1 aspect) or Full Screen (Pan and Scan), French and Spanish language tracks and 5.1 Disney Enhanced Home Theater Mix.

All in all this is definitely worth the money and all of the bonus material is entertaining and educational at no extra or inflated cost.

Children & Adults Alike Are Facinated LADY & THE TRAMP
Review created: 03/20/06

Lady, a young cocker spaniel from a respectable home, falls in love with Tramp, a mutt who lives in the railroad yards. They enjoy several outings together, including a memorable spaghetti dinner by moonlight at Tony's, but their relationship is strained not only by Lady's loyalty to her human family and their newborn baby, but by Tramp's devil-may-care attitude that at one point gets Lady thrown in the dog pound. Tramp redeems himself by saving the baby from a rat and thereby wins Lady's love and the affection of her human family.

AS OLD AS THIS STORY IS, I CLASSIFY IT UP THERE WITH * The Wizard Of Oz.

  awesome cartoon!!!!

2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

It's still one of the sweetest kisses onscreen, up there with Bergman and Grant, Bogey and Bacall: the moment when pampered purebred Lady and streetwise mongrel Tramp, sharing a moonlit plate of spaghetti in an alley behind an Italian café, unknowingly slurp the same strand, and suddenly find their mouths meeting in surprise and tenderness. Ah, puppy love. Lady and the Tramp is a delight of animation and surprisingly deep character development, given that the stars are all dogs. Lady, an adorable Cocker Spaniel, feels neglected when her owners become distracted by the pending birth of a baby. But the last straw is clueless Aunt Sarah's appearance with her conniving Siamese cats (among Disney's most creatively evil villains), who wreak havoc on Lady's blissful home life. Soon Lady is off on an adventure in the streets, where the savvy Tramp takes her under his paw. The lessons of friendship and loyalty, of integrity--not to mention trusting in the kindness of strangers--ring true to delighted children and adults alike. And unlike many Disney films, there's no real violence, only challenges that smart dogs (including a tough-talking vamp named Peg, voiced sublimely by Peggy Lee, who also wrote the songs), banding together, can tackle. The animation is terrific; the scene where we first meet Tramp shows him rinsing off under a pipe, and his subsequent shaking-off of the water follows the detailed rippling up and down his back that any dog lover will recognize. And is there any song more romantic than "Bella Notte"? Bellissima!

Lady and the Tramp DVD by Walt Disney
Review created: 02/06/08

I loved watching this movie when I was a child. It still has all the magic that all Walt Disney movies have.

I bought this movie on Ebay for my two year old grandson because it is no longer available in retail stores. It is in the Disney "vault" until Disney decides to bring it back out. They usually stay in the "vault" from seven to ten years.

This was a very pleasureable experience from beginning to end. I will continue to shop on Ebay.

Disney's Lady and the Tramp is great for the whole family. It explores the fears and uncertainties that come with a new baby in a home where there already is a baby of the house. It also explores the ups and downs of love with Lady and the Tramp being the example. Great film which hopefully will be around for my children and their children's children to see.

LADY AND THE TRAMP (2006, DVD)

I always loved Lady and The Tramp as a child and thought that my children would too. My kids are ages 12 and 15 now and are not impressed with this movie even though it is sweet. The story itself, though it is a Disney classic, is too old-fashioned by today's standards. My 12 yr. old got up half way through and went into her room to do her own thing-computer activities. I like it-but then again I am 40 yrs old and have watched it many times.

I love this movie. It's a classic and has been one of my top favorite Disney movies. My mother especially loves this movie and seeing it together once again has brought us back together with that special mother-daughter bond we've always had. LOVELY movie! Nothing better than a doggy love story. :)
