  great silliness!

Thought is would be fun and was not disappointed! Cute book about "catching fairies" which, as we all know, can be very difficult! Was glad to get my hands on the 10.5 year anniversary copy too! Now you're getting the idea. This book is a great farce and almost as much fun as "Never Give a Lady a Restive Horse" which is still my number one favorite when it comes to silliness!

  Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairy Book
Review created: 08/28/08

This is an old series that I somehow missed growing up! It is a wonderful imaginative account of a girl who presses Fairies in her book instead of leaves. There are some pictures of nude fairies so be cautious with slightly younger children. There is more than one volume in the series and I plan on getting them all.

  I'm still laughing...
Review created: 03/25/08

Terry Jones of Monty Python fame, and artist Brian Froud have given us a rare glimpse into the life of the imaginary Lady Cottington. The fairies don't have a chance. They tiptoe on her book, bear thier bums and SMASH. they become art. What I love is that this book is basically and homage to a sick sense of humor and love of fairies. I love that Lady Cottington can't help herself, no matter how guilty she feels for slamming her book on them, when another fairy is rude or cheeky or slower than she is, she gets a tingle in her toes and her heart beats faster until she can't take it anymore, and she smooshes them flat without a second thought. "Its rather like making a pie, you have to cut the dangly bits of fairy of the edges of the book". The DVD included makes it even more fun, to see Terry dressed as Lady Cottington. Its so wrong, but so hilarious! Not for kids though, naked fairies and sexual refrences are only part of the fun though. Classic... The pictures are beautiful, and funny, and the diary like entries had me giggling to myself. Apparently Lady Cottington has had many marriage proposals, but mostly from her own family members or clergy.
