Being Texan, Ladybird Johnson is a legend here. In many ways, more than her husband. What amazes so many here is that she truly loved LBJ and without her, he probably would have never achieved any elective office.
Her graciousness is well known. Her business acumen is less well known. Her distance from her children during their raising is not well known. This author presents a very balanced biography, covering Mrs. Johnson's weaknesses as well as well as her obviously strengths.
