this movie is about the men in the firehouse,Brothers,family,fear..everything in one..they fight for others and hope they can save themselves..i cant say much because this movie is awesome i dont want to take that away from you who might rent it..
there is nothing in this movie i didnt like
but i forwarn you ..you will need a box of kleenex thoughout

Great movie, lots of action and heartfelt emotion! Makes you feel like you are right there with these guys. The actors are great in this movie and the effects are excellent! Very powerful movie that men and women will both love and the men may even cry, too!

After September 11th, firefighters and police officers attained a new level of importance to me, and everyone else. I believe that Ladder 49 paid an excellant homage to people that we took for granted in the past. The movie was sensitive and poignant in the portrayal of a firefighter played by Joaquin Phoenix, and the ending never ceases to leave me in tears! Would definitely recommend!

This is a very good movie. I am a big John Travolta fan and this one was a must have for my collection. Jaquin Pheonix was also excellent. Very entertaining movie.

This is an authentic drama - not an action movie. The script may be formulaic and the dialogue might be predictable, but this is still a good-natured movie celebrating these guys, their training and discipline. It's sincere and patriotic in a time when both can be a national treasure.

ladder 49, what can i say? tremendous movie in all. very realistic and heart-warming. i believe its the best movie i've ever seen. i come from a family of firefighters and i know how the real deal is. by far my favorite movie and its great acting. it shows the hardships that a true firefighter goes through and the brotherhood of a true firefighter. by the end i'll be willing to bet that you cry, i know i did and i always do no matter how many times i watch it. all in all its a great movie.

i love ladder 49 a couple aspects are un realistic but other then that the story line is great easy too follow

It's a good movie to add to my John Travolta collection. He doesn't play a smart aleck character so I kinda miss that. But I'm not sorry I bought it.

Outstanding story and a very realistic view of life in a fire company !! From the firefighter's standpoint or from the family standpoint this is an accurate picture from humor to trauma to the bonding which occurs in the fire family.

Joaquin Phoenix and John Travolta both provide excellent portraits of the rookie to the seasoned chief. The tension of dealing with the terrified and the traumatized and the relief of successful rescues are well done.

I train public safety personnel and I intend to use this movie as excellent training discussion material.
