La audacia de la esperanza/ The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama (2007, Paperback, Translation)

I bought the audio book. I really wanted to read the book as I knew Barack Obama as my senator from Illinois. I have a difficult time reading books, they make me sleepy, but I really enjoyed listening to this book which is read by Barack Obama. I already knew he was a great speaker but his reading of the book gave it life. The anecdotes were sometimes amusing but in general, I was moved by his fresh perspective on politics and how politics affect our everyday lives. In fact, the book moved me to get involved in his campaign for the presidency. He was clear and honest about what moved him to get involved, what prompted him to go to law school,and how he got into politics. He seemed to have many of the same frustrations with our Congressional Representatives today that I do. He has some interesting and logical ideas about how American politics has gotten to where it is now. He also has very good ideas about what needs to change. He actually makes it sound doable! (If that isn't a real word, I'm sure you get the picture). I listened to this while I painted my bedroom. I'm not sure I could have read this book but I very much enjoyed listening to it.
