Don't touch this phone!

Pros: 3.2 mega pixel camera, above average call quality.
Cons: Terrible touch screen, fragile, poor speaker phone, did I mention the terrible touch screen?
I urge anyone looking for their first touch screen phone to avoid the LG Dare, as this one will leave you very frustrated. On the surface the phone seems to be nice and compact with a vivid screen but don't judge this book by it's cover. First and foremost, the screen is very unresponsive. You will often have to tap the on screen unlock multiple times to unlock the phone. This may seem like a small complaint, but multiply this by the number of calls you make in a day and you will screaming at it in no time. Another problem that seems to plague this screen is dis-coloring on the surface. According to the Verizon salesman I spoke to, they have had to warranty many Dare's because of this rainbow warping that happens to many of them (I'm on my 3rd Dare because of this. Stupid Verizon will not let me switch models).
On the positive side, when you can get the phone to dial the right numbers (you will spend lots of time pressing one number to only have the adjacent key register) the call quality can be pretty good. The problem is you can get the same call quality on many different phones without the headaches of the Dare. Don't think a software update will fix these problems, as of July 2009 there has been no correction to these problems. Also you better enjoy that bright vivid screen because it is plugged in to charge, it NEVER turns off.
