LG Chocolate VX8500 (Verizon Wireless)

Now, of course, I am a Verizon Wireless employee, so kind of by default I am a bit biased toward the cell phones the company offers lol. I'll admit this; Verizon Wireless has a great service with awesome customer service.

But that's not the point of this review. This phone, the LG Chocolate (LG VX-8500) is a very awesome phone, which FINALLY puts together everything that a cell phone really should be: camera, MP3 player, and cell phone together!

Honestly, don't you just hate it when you have to carry around three devices while you're walking around, with each device doing just one thing? It's really frustrating, and honestly, with me who loves hanging out and going out on the town, it really weighs you down travelling from one place to another.

In comes the LG Chocolate. At first-glance, this phone seems just like any ordinary slider phone. But hey, that's where the similarities stop. The phone has a touch keypad, meaning you're not pressing a button but instead is touch-sensitive to when you hit OK, ending the call, soft keys, etc., very similar to the Apple iPod's scroll wheel. It's very sleek, and while you're on a phone call, this keypad automatically locks, so you don't have to worry about something being pressed while you're talking.

Also, with standard features, it includes a 1.3MP camera/video camera, Bluetooth, V Cast/3G network compatibility, sleek design, illuminated keypad, and the works. The phone also plays both MP3 and WMA files, so they can easily be transferred to the phone with the onboard 63MB of internal memory. Not enough? Add a microSD card of up to 2GB (yes, GB) of storage space. Store your music, photos, and videos to play on the display.

Honestly, I saw the phone and assumed at first-glance it looked quite flimsy. Absolutely the opposite. It is a bit thicker than the RAZR, but has a very firm design, especially since I am a bit harder on phones.

Finally after all of this? I'm happy to say that I own this device...and it seriously rocks. One device is what I look for...not three or four lol. Take the test drive at a VZW store or eBay.com! :)

This was my first slider phone, I was afraid I wouldn't like it, but I've been pleasantly surprised. The sensitivity can be adjusted on the touch screen and navigation wheel which I love, and the ringtones it comes with are pretty good.

I have had this phone for six monthes now and have had the time to learn all of it's quarkes. First off let me start by saying I love this phones sleek styling and all of it's great features. I love Haveing music at my fingertips wherever I go and I love the Micro SD expansion port to hold more songs. I also love the ability to adjust the key control sensitivity so people with colder fingers (like me) can still use the phone. However recently I've begune having a few problems. My phone sometimes will just randomly dial somone off of my saved Numbers list for no reason. I have woken up at 3am several times to one of my friends cursing me out over the phone laying on my side table. Verison told me the phone just needed a software update and it spent an hour being downloaded and then it happened again two nights ago... also the screen scratches very easily and you have to constantly clean the phone as every finger print stands out and looks awful on such a beautiful phone... over all I like the phone and will probably replace it with anouther of the same phone and hope for the best... also verisons representatives and phone people suck

The battery life appears to be too short! I decided to buy it because a friend needed a phone to buy for his wife. I had an e-bay account and as a daily e-bayer I let him buy this phone through my account. Now that he reveived it, his wife had complained that the phone battery died after only using the phone for two short calls.

The phone is better than described, with fast shipping. He had difficulty on his end and communicated well with me about the problem.

I like the phone it works great. Only problem is that it doesn't not charge, but that is okay because the person I bought it from has tried hard to help me fix this problem.

I have bought 5 cell phones onn ebay because they are so ridiculously expensive to buy brand new and i have 5 boys i havr had very good luck with theses phones and have had nothing but good experiences on ebay. thank you

I wanted a phone that had my 3 main ingredients; a music player, a quality camera and mini storage, oh yes and a quality communication device. I bought a Samsung with a 3.0 megapixel camera. Wrong! Camera was slow, Bluetooth was intermittent but I admit the music player was ok. Fortunately I lost it and found the Chocolate Vx8500. I'm not losing this one. Camera is quick (not 3.0 but very good), Bluetooth is awesome with music connection and slider design is pretty groovy. And just for the record there is a speakerphone.

they were truthful and very accurate about there product shipping is great they are an asset to e-bay its sellers and buyers alike they include a card for free activation and answer questions promptly e-bay needs more like them

small size is made up by the slider, cool look, easy to download tunes, more durable than my last few phones, and comes in many different colors, I like the pink..

the item was a used phone and without having a phone number to reach someone i just dealt with the phone even though i was not satisfied with it and i still am.

my son loves the phone. he is ii. I got the phone a week ago and its very easy to use. its a touch screen i have nothing negative to say about the phone

This is a stylish phone with a fairly good camera considering it is 1-2 mp. The keypad for navigation takes some getting used to - you must have a really light touch and be careful not to touch surrounding keys. The battery life is not great compared to other phones I've had, but overall if you just use it occasionally like I do it is nice for the price. I would recommend another phone if you use it frequently or it is your only phone.

nice screen, good camera, small dialing buttons, somewhat hard to use because half of phone has bottons and half is touch screen

This phone is junk. I am going to return it. It dials itself, you cant text with it because it throws in all its own numbers and letters. shuts off constantly, and drops every call.

The phone was used and it never worked. I got the phone and it just never worked
customer service was poor it took them a whole month for them to process my money back. POOR SERVICE

Really holds the signal with no more dropped calls. Consistantly out performs the Samsung and Motorola that it replaced.

It's the phone my son wanted. Easy and nice to work with. Easy to carry around. He loves it. Has had no problems with it. The price was right.

I guess the only complaint i have about this phone it that i am not used to a touch screen phone and the outside buttons are touch, and they are pretty senative. It takes some getting used to but overall great phone, couldnt have asked for any better especially for the price. Plus compared to my old Razer the call quality is out of this world good.

The only two really bad qualities i see is one, the speaker doesnt produce great sound. Second, there is no headphone jack for music so you will have to get a bluetooth to listen in privacy

phone was in great condition...minor scratches/scuffs. works well!!! i bought it as a gift for my little sister and she loves it.

It was advertised as new and the charger was not the right one and the screen did not even work properly.
