LG CU515 (AT&T)

Got this phone since i was a customer of At&t for two years. This phone has a lot of media features including video, pictures, music and a mini-sd card slot. I put a 2gb card in and loaded it with songs. Only problem is the more songs and pics that are on the card, the longer the phone will take to open them all up. TXTing is kind of hard as it is hard to switch between text inputs. The speed of the phone however is very fast, internet browser is mediocre. Here are some specs on the phone:

I love this phone! You have no problem hearing with it and the other person has no problem hearing you. The graphics are clear with bright colors. It is durable and functional. It's easy to use. The sound on it for ringtones and downloading music is great! You can take and send pics with ease..you can even share ringtones! I very much recommend this phone!

The good: The LG CU515 offers a simple, user-friendly design, decent call quality, and a solid feature set that includes 3.5G support, Push to Talk, stereo Bluetooth, and world phone capability.

The bad: The LG CU515 has a disappointing external display and it lacks a camera flash and voice dialing. Photo and streaming video quality were uneven.

The bottom line: The LG CU515 is great for making calls, but it's not AT&T's best cell phone for multimedia and wireless broadband use.

I bought this to replace an old Motorola v551 with battery issues.
I liked the design and it seemed a bit more solid than the RAZR. I liked the large screen on the flip side, the large, easy to read keypad, and the slim feel in my hand. I also saw the battery life was rated well for talk and standby time. The speakerphone has an excellent volume.

Though it has a large color screen on the inside, the text is too small with no option for enlarging it. The outside display is B&W and could have been larger.

I almost immediately ran into annoyances. The PushToTalk button is located on the side of the phone. You almost can't help but activate it when you open the phone to answer a call. Opening it is also not as easy as you'd expect. The design gives no "grab" area for a thumb to lift the clam. Expect to use two hands. At least it prompts you to decide if you want to be charged for PTT before it connects. There is no way to disable this function from activating. Just before writing this I got off the phone with my provider. The tech "thinks" he might have found a way and is going to email me the instructions. I can only hope.

Internet connection is way too easy to inadvertently start. Too many options for connecting and I'm not really appreciative of my phone loaded with connections to the their Internet Mall where they try to sell you something.

Navigation isn't easy. Nothing seems to be simple. Menus to scroll through and I have yet to find a way to reassign the keys because the user manual, though thick, is poorly written in giving instructions. It tells you what the phone CAN do, but doesn't give stepped instructions on how to get it done. Print so small, I can barely read it.

I also have a data cable for it, but it doesn't seem to accept downloads from my computer of MP3 music. If you ever used Motorola Tools and are familiar with the simple procedure for downloading music and photos to your phone, don't expect anything simple with this phone.

Speaking of music, it has 10 preloaded ring styles. I don't like any of them, but until I figure out how to get my own music in this phone, I'm stuck.

Volume during a speakerless conversation is good, though voice quality isn't the best. My old v551 sounded better.

Bluetooth: You'd think it wouldn't be a big deal, but I have 3 separate earpieces I keep in different environments I may be in. This phone found and accepted my first one, but refuses to accept, or even find my other two. Don't know if this is intentional, but now I have to make sure my earpiece is fully charged at all times because I can't switch out to any of my others.


Overall, it is a great phone for those who just want a simple phone to make and receive calls, but for those who plan on personalizing it, using it for pictures, music, texting, and all that can be done with cell phones these days... it is only a GOOD phone, that could have been designed better - both its' functionality and user friendliness. Maybe the next version will see improvements. This one had potential, but fell short.

What I like most about this phone that it's so easy to use.
And it has everything that I want on it.
Go and try one. It's a good cell phone for the money.

I purchased this phone for my daughter because LG makes very durable phones. The battery life is great, pictures are great. My daughter loves this phone much better than the slider phone I originally got her. i think this is a great phone for kids. Easy to use, durable, and can take abuse from a twelve year old.

I REALLY DO LIKE THIS PHONE RATHER THAN THE RAZOR. I REALLY LOVE THE MP3 ACCESS ON THE FRONT COVER OF THE PHONE --THATS COOL--- THE ONLY DISLIKES I HAVE IS THE BATTERY DOES NOT STAY CHARGED VERY LONG SO I BOUGHT SOME EXTRA BATTERIES.

This phone was purchased for my fiance, she wanted a simplistic phone with bluetooth and photo capability. This phone had both and was stylish as well for the female in mind Ours came in Purple. The reception is superior to the Gen 2 Razors (in our area) and the usability is quite simple. This is a great phone for some who wants just that a phone. No Really fancy tools or accessories just a simple phone with a lot of nice easy to use features. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone except for the businuess types, or gamers.

Overall a good phone for the price of about $100 lightly used with no contract.

Features such as 3G high speed capability, 4Gb of memory and bright color screen are comparable or better than most 2007/08 flip phones in this price range, such as Samsung and Motorola RZR V3. This phone is thicker and longer overall than the RZR and others that have the same screen size. I am hoping that it has better reliability than the RZR or most or the Samsung flip phones that often break when bounced around during daily use.

The smooth plastic case on this phone looks easy to scratch, but since the covers are one, solid color the scratches are not as visable as those on phones with painted covers like most Samsung models.

This phone is awesome. It works well with my bluetooth, looks great, works great, is easy to handle/navigate, and has a good battery life. I highly recommend this phone.

I love that the phone came quick and my daughter loves the phone so I ordred another phone for my other daughter. I deceided to buy these phones because the price is very reasonable.

Needed to get a phone due to change of service. Went on Ebay and figured I don't use half the features any of my cell phones are equiped with, therefore, any phone will work. I got this phone based on price. I never realized the minor differences I am now aware of. Little things , different to everyone. For example: The display on the front is very tinted. I can never read who's calling. I will say, the phone operates fine, no issues in functionality. I will do my homework when I buy my next phone.

MY SON LIKED THE BIGGER BUTTONS ON THIS PHONE (HE HAS LARGE FINGERS), AND I LIKED THE OPTIONS. THE PHONE WORKS GREAT, AND HAS A FANTASTIC LOOK TO IT. THE SELLER TOOK EXCELLENT CARE OF THE PHONE SO IT WAS IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION. I SAVE A LOT OF MONEY GOING THROUGH EBAY, AND WOULD RECOMMEND OTHERS TO DO THE SAME IF THEY NEED ANOTHER PHONE. I brought this phone because i go through cell phones like how Art majors use pencils! my insurance ran out on my contract so i could not get a replacement of my old phone. this phone was cheap to by and itis a great subsitute. i like how you loud the phone is when music is played. the worst feature is the push to talk button because no one uses that any more. other then that the phone is cool and i sugguest this phone to anyone who needs a quick cell phone to have!

I bought this phone because I dropped mine in the toilet. LOL but I really did and it was very user friendly and I wanted another one just like it. I found this phone on ebay and bought it. It has been a great phone and it is just as they sold it to be. I have no dislike's about the phone and my experience on ebay has been a straight forward and positive one.

This one of best cell phone I ever had I can hear very clear the other party , and I can get very strong signal, where it used to be difficult ,the battery life is outstanding. I do not need the extras ( camera ,video ,texting ) I have separate gadgets for that. If you are looking for a good phone to communicate this is the real one

This is a great simple flip phone for everyday use. I've had mine for almost a year now and have now problems what so ever. So I decided to get one for my husband and he now loves it too.

Works great, excellent features. I love this phone. The screens move quickly from one to the next and the sleek design makes functionability easy.

The phone is exactly what I wanted and is in perfect condition. Shipping did take longer than expected.

I like how the address book works, & a few other things on this phone. However, it does not pick up signal in my area as well as other phones. Now have 1 slightly used LG CU515 for sale cheap.
