I bought this set over other name brands such as panasonic, and samsung, even though I spent a little more. The reason for this was the rating in consumer reports magazine. After weeks of reading and searching for the best deal, what swayed me was quickly skimming over and article from an unbias source, and am I ever glad I did. It has all the hook ups I want/need and then some, the audio mini plug quickly allows sound from any computer right though my home stereo, easily without any array of cables or fuss. The picture is such I couldn t ask for more, as is the ease of set-up, functionality and just the over-all feel of dependability one gets from quality. I am anything but a electronics guru, just a regular guy that knows when he is extremely pleased with a major purchase and would like to help clear a path for others that are looking in the direction of an affordable, quality plasma. The more I searched the more confused I got, hope this helps the rest of you.
Extremely Happy
L.G. consumer

I bought this TV as my first High Definition television. I went with LG over the many other brands because of a few reviews I had read, as well as many other VERY GOOD LG electronics I own.

Picture Quality:
I would have to say that I was more than surprised at the amazing picture quality. I plugged in my Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, and Dish Network all right into the back of my new LG. First thing I tried out was my Xbox 360 with Test Drive Unlimited. Now, this game has some nice looks on my old TV... but WOW. I really felt like I was in Hawaii driving a Ferrari around with my new TV. It truly had one of the best pictures I've seen. Worked just as well with my other systems, and movies and TV really stood out. I don't have Dish HD and it still looks great!!! Now jumping up from an old CRT TV to an HDTV you might say that I think any HD will look great... right? No... I had played games, watched movies, browsed the internet, and just about everything else you can do on a TON OF DIFFERENT HDTV tvs. Many of my friends and family have Samsung, Sony, Mitsubishi, Sharp, Insignia, Toshiba, Pioneer, and I can truly tell you that this one ranks at the VERY TOP!!!

Inputs:
It has plenty of inputs, as well as a couple of much needed outputs. It has a total of 2 Hi-Def inputs, 2 HDMI inputs, 2 AV inputs, 1 AV output, 2 S-Video inputs, 1 RGB input, 1 RGB output, 1 Antenna/Cable Input and One Optical Output.

Sound:
I do have a good surround sound system, but WOW. The TV alone is enough to fill up the room, and to my surprise the bass was decent as well. If you don't have a surround sound or decent speaker system, this thing should be more than enough to hold you over until you do!!!

Remote:
This of course should not be a selling point to a TV, but this thing is pretty nice. It's your basic TV remote with the option to program it for your other devices (which LG makes very simple). It has some nice indicator lights, and the buttons feel great.

Cons:
The ONLY downside to this is the typical "plasma screen burning" that takes place when something on the screen (ushually bright) is in the same place for a long time. IT DOES NOT permanently burn into the screen, but leaves a nice bright outline for quite a while. So if you play games that have stationary maps, letter, HUDs (heads up display) be aware that you'll need to switch up games or throw in a movie every now and then. This is definitely not a downfall for LG, as this problem occurs with plasma's for every manufacturer.

Overall:
I am very satisfied with the purchase, and glad I made the investment. It was well worth the money, and I am very happy with the picture quality. Now I just need a bigger one!!!
