*~* Just a Simple, Basic phone but Works Very Well *~*

The LG300(aka LG300G) is a GREAT phone, especially considering the price. You cant beat it. It offers very simple-to-use features, and great call quality. Like I said, its just a BASIC phone. No fancy features, but works great. We have owned 5 of these, without problems, except for one that I had in my pocket and was bumped very hard, and the display(screen) went out. But, considering you can get these either FREE or for less than $19 WITH 300 minutes, I just ran out and bought another and transferred my number over. To do this took no time at all and it was a problem-free transfer.

As for features, it has: a decent size color screen, displays your NET10 account info on the main screen(minutes and days left), has a handful of alarm options, contacts, text messaging, two games preinstalled, calendar, notepad, calculator, tip calculator, world clock, stop watch, unit converter, and easy-to-use keypad lock.

If you text a lot, this phone may not be for you if youre used to using a QWERTY pad. I text often and am used to my MOTO Q, but doing so on this phone is a pain so I'll use someone elses phone to do that or one of my other phones. I simply use this phone for making/receiving calls.

The phone offers a decent amount of SETTING options, such as changing the call volume, ringer volume, alarm volume, keypad volume, 24 pre-installed ringtones, 7 pre-installed wallpapers, a backlight timer, brightness and contrast settings, and language settings.

The pre-installed ringtones and wallpapers are pretty basic and limited, and I dont believe you can upload your own. So, personalizing this phone is very limited. If youre a Techie, pass this up. If you need a GREAT PHONE and CHEAP, grab one of these.

As for the NET10 service, its pretty good. No problems. You can buy minutes online, on your phone, or in most stores. You can also access and register your NET10 phone online. Registering your phone is OPTIONAL(a great privacy feature). If you ever want to TRANSFER your number to a new phone, you'll have to be registered online, and have the phone registered online. Also, when you buy this phone, you can select any AREA CODE that you would like. Say you live in Michigan and work in Ohio, you can select an Ohio or Michigan number, or a number from ANY other state(be it California or whatever). This is a GREAT FEATURE for those that call YOU(incoming calls). With the NET10 Service, you yourself are not charged long distance charges, but those that call you may be charged if you have an out-of-area number. So, I recommend choosing a number for an area in which others can call without being charged long distance.

Also, speaking of phone numbers, if you ever want to change your number, just let your minutes/days run out, wait, buy minutes and you'll have to receive a new number. Another great privacy feature. You can also go out and buy a new NET10 phone, get a new number, then transfer your days/minutes over to the new phone with a new number!

MINUTES: All of your old minutes and service days left DO rollover when you buy new minutes(if your time/service days havent run out). Purchase new minutes BEFORE your days/service date is up, and all of your minutes and days will just stack up.

Anyway, GREAT PHONE, GREAT PRICE! You cant beat it if you're just looking for a simple, easy-to-use cell phone.

Simple to use, basic phone at about 10c/min

I recently received a refurbished LG300 with 300 Net 10 minutes. About two weeks in, I haven't had any problems with the phone or the way I am charged for calls or messages. The display shows how many minutes and days of coverage you have left, so you are always informed with regards to your usage of minutes. It doesn't seem like there are many opportunities to save money on the actual price of the minutes for this phone, with the exception of new phones being sold bundled with minutes. You should expect to pay 10 cents per minute. Sending/receiving a text message costs a half cent. You can transfer your old number to a new net 10 phone pretty quickly. The LG300 phone does not have a camera or gps; it is a non-clam style phone that is very light feeling. In that sense, there are fewer ways for it to break. Battery life is good...I haven't had to charge it yet.

I had a cellular phone about 10 years ago and this is the first phone I've had since then. I figured out the main features on the LG300 pretty quickly without having to read the manual.

I am not a heavy user of cell phones and was looking for a budget phone, not a phone to run a small business from. This phone is fine for my needs and is very inexpensive. If you are a very heavy user of this type of technology and need advanced features, I'd look elsewhere.

Excellent prepaid (or monthly) phone. Great reception!

Thia prepaid gives great reception, clear as a bell ANYWHERE! I bought one in Walmart one Friday when I left my regular (tmobile) @ work for the weekend. I have no home phone due to cost. When I charged and made calls noone believed the clarity. I then lowered my plan with T-mobile, and supplement with a NET10. Half the cost in buying phone with free 300 minutes as buying new airtime cards! Small simply super cell!

LG 300 with 300 Minutes Through NET10 for 60 Days
Review created: 11/30/09

Many cell phone users typically pay for more minutes than they actually use.

Both NET10 and Touch Tone offer affordable cell phone plans whereby caller only pay for the minutes they actually use.

The LG 300 is a good cell phone and NET10 offers an affordable rate for the caller who typically uses less than 150 minutes or less per month.

NET10 is a straightforward pay as you go cell phone service with US nationwide coverage.

NET10 has no contracts, confusing terms, stipulations, hidden fees, small print or surcharges - plus no daily charges or monthly bills.

NET10 offers a flat rate of 10 cents per minute, with local, long distance and roaming included.

NET10 International Long Distance allows you to make calls to over 60 international destinations from your NET10 phone in the U.S., at a cost of a regular call (10 cents) plus 5 cents per minute.

NET10 International Neighbors also allows you to obtain AT NO CHARGE three Mexican or Canadian phone numbers, which your family and friends (in those countries) can dial, and you will receive those calls directly at your NET10 phone in the United States. With NET10 International Neighbors your family and friends in Mexico or Canada won’t pay international long distance charges, and you will pay just a regular call. (In order to obtain your FREE NET10 International Neighbors numbers you must first register FREE to NET10 International Long Distance service, so that you can make and/or receive international long distance calls.)

I would recommend the LG 300 and NET10 services for any caller using less than 150 minutes per month. I would, however, recommend the LG 4500 Cell Phone through Touch Tone for $9.95 per month plus $.05 per minutes as a more ecomomical rate for any caller who uses between 200 - 800 minutes per month. Touch Tone also has no contracts, confusing terms, stipulations, hidden fees, small print or surcharges. Touch Tone does have a monthly fee of $9.95 and only requires its customers to have a bank issued credit or debit card.

Each caller should analyze their monthly cell phone usage and choose the plan most suited for their needs. Regardless, why pay for more minutes than you actually use when both NET10 and Touch Tone offer affordable cell phone plans whereby caller only pay for the minutes they actually use.

  Very basic, but not bad
Review created: 10/27/09

The main reason I bought this little phone is the 300 minutes that are included with the package. I think most retailers sell this item at around 30 bucks or so excluding tax. So you basically get 300 minutes at a cost of about 10cents per minute and a free phone, which is a good deal for a prepaid.
The sound quality is excellent for such a little device. And people on the other end generally say I come in loud and clear. The functions are all pretty self-explanatory and easy to use.
The font size on the screen is a bit small so you might have to put on your readers to avoid eye strain. Also the keypad is very compact so it takes some getting used to.
No camera.....no internet....no bluetooth.....it's a phone.
All in all, not a bad deal if you just need to make and receive calls.

I PURCHASE THE NET 10 CARDS ON EBAY FOR 50% LESS THAN KMART OR WAL MART AND BASICALLY FOR $7.00 / MONTH I HAVE A CELL PHONE FOR MY 10 YEAR OLD. I ALLOW HIM TO USE 300 MINUTES FOR 2 MONTHS...150 MINUTES PER MONTH. HE LEARNS TO BUDGET HIS TALKING AND TEXTING SO THAT HE DOES NOT GO OVER THE LIMIT. SERVICE IS GREAT AND HE CAN KEEP UP WITH HIS FRIENDS.

  Great product.
Review created: 08/23/09

The LG 300 phone works great. It is light weight and just right for pocket or purse. The ringer is loud enough to hear even while in your purse. I love the Net10 service. The coverage in my state is vast and there aren't many areas where my phone is roaming. This is just what I was looking for.

Buying a PREPAID Phone on EBAY! Please READ!!
Review created: 08/15/09

OK, First of all, I do not want this to reflect badly on the seller. On the contrary, The seller in this case went above and beyond his obligations in this matter. What I am mainly trying to convey, is the technical view of this transaction. I bought this phone with 300 minutes upon activation for around $16.00(shipping was $5.80) so all tolled, it was going to cost me about 7.3 cents a minute to use this phone. Well I normally pay about 9 cents a minute so I thought I would save a little. Well, the phone arrives in a timely manner all packaged well and I was very pleased. I go to activate the phone, (which I have done many, many times) and there is a problem. So I call net10 and they get the phone activated, but with no minutes. Net10 gives me a lame explanation as to why no minutes and I contact my Ebay seller. This seller is very helpful and sends me another phone! It too arrives quickly and I try to activate it and Net10 tells me the sim card is not compatible to my calling area, so I request them to send me a new sim card which they are eager to do.(HEY, if you don't START using their phone, you won't BUY any more airtime from them, right?) Well I finally get the phone activated, with the 300 minutes, but with some goofy area code I have never heard of, and when I try to call it from my home landline, naturally, they say it is a long distance number. Then. I ship the first phone back to the seller. which is now no good to him either, because it has already been activated,, and it costs me $5.95. End of story goes like this: I have now spent two weeks of my time, $28.00, and a 20 mile trip to the post office to get what I could have gotten on my old cell phone in 5 minutes on the computer for $2.00 less. Plus, a very honest and helpful seller is out two phones, nearly $12.00 in shipping, and a lot of time and trouble, all for the $22.00 I paid him. So... Winners... NET10 because they always win..and the U.S.Postal Service. Losers.... A wonderful Ebay seller just trying to make an honest buck...and myself, just trying to save one!
