French punk rock from the early 80's, Oberkampf was the inspiration for many French rock acts to follow (Noir Desir, Berurier Noir). Led by their charismatic singer Joe Hell they had even turned down offers to record for Virgin for fear of losing control (and for punk ethics). All the tracks appear for the first time on CD and the bonus disc includes live versions and alternate takes.
