this phone is awesome with its 2 screens full key bored and 1.3 megapixil camera. the key bored is easy to use and doesnt make the phone too big. The phone supports most things but doesn't have a memory card slot. If you have a virgin mobile phone number i suggest this phone but if you get it i also suggest getting unlimited texting

  Virgin Mobile Gem!!!

Te Kyocera Wild Card is a gem in the Virgin Mobile line. It features a large external display (bigger than the Switch_Back or Strobe), and has brilliant colors. I wasn't very happy about having only one speaker on the inside, or having limited Bluetooth function. All in all, this phone is great if you have children (tween-teens) who text a lot. Thanks for reading!

  Over exagerated wild card

I have always used Tracfone for my teenage daughter just to be able to keep her in line with her with talk, texting, and spending. When she seen the Virgin Mobile Wild Card phone she begged until I finally gave in and got it for her for Christmas. There are several things that would not be useful for a teenager or an adult. First of all you are very limited as to where you are able to get service. I was smart enough to get a unlimited texting plan but what good was it if we were driving somewhere and it kept going in and out of dead zones? The battery had to be charged sometimes in the middle of the day even after very little use, then it would have to be charged every night and still sometimes would not be fully charged by the next morning. In February the charger that came with the phone would not stay in the phone unless you held it there. I contacted Virgin Mobile customer service by email explaining the problem and received an email back from them 5 days later giving me a tracking # and a phone # to call. I finally got to speak with a real peron after listening to 50 recorded options and messages. Everything on their recordings pertained to what else you could buy and all the ways you could spend more money with them, nothing about customer service. When I said "customer service" enough times I was finally connected to someone who listened to my problem. After explaining everything that was going on with the phone and how it wasn't usable since it couldn't be charged I also told them that I had even invested in a new charger thinking that may be the problem. They kindly let me know that they only had a 30 day warranty on their phones and I needed to take it to be repaired. I immediately cancelled my plan and that was with a $20.00 credit on my account, which by the way can not be refunded, the phone will stay in service until there is no more money in my account. So now I have a $100 Wildcard phone that has no use and my daughter has a $20 tracfone with double minutes for life. It is a better phone as far as service areas, texting is cheap, (o.3 to send and free to receive), and she can still call home in case of emergency.

I originally had this phone & loved it, but i dropped it in water, and It stopped working. I wanted the same exact phone, but for less money. I found this one and bidded on it and one. The phone has a couple large scratches, but works pretty well. When I got the phone it was still activated, but I contacted the seller. And the same day it was up and working.

I recently decided I didn't want a contract with a cell phone service so I obtained virgin mobile due to there great prices on plans. There phones don't have all the bells and whistles that normal cell phone providers might have, but they are descent. The wild card is a great texting phone, the letters and numbers are a bit apart from each other but it does the texting as I need. I have had no problem with virgin mobile and enjoy it compared to paying the contract fees!

The Kyocera Wild Card - A GREAT Messaging Phone!
Review created: 09/05/08

This phone is a gem for any huge texter. It is very user friendly and very easy to get used to. I was never too much into txting, but I wanted to get more into it so I purchased this phone and boy am I glad I did. The full QWERTY keyboard is amazing and once you quickly get used to typing on a full keyboard, texting becomes a breeze. One reason I wanted this phone is because I knew if I was gonna get more into texting, a full QWERTY keyboard had to be a feature of the phone because my hands would constantly hurt at the end of the day from texting on a traditional numeric keypad. Ouch!
Well, no more pain with this buddy, he texts perfectly and all without hurt!
I recommend this phone for anyone who is really into the txting scene.

I actually bought this phone so I could have a wider service area than I currently do with Revol. I like the phone and its features. I wished it had the option for videos or mp3 player. Other than that it is a nice little phone.

This was for my 12 year old that I didn't want to have a regular $30.00 per month cell phone bill. We do 'top-up" cards and she gets 1000 minutes per month, when it's gone, it's gone. The phone is easy to use and the keyboard is great!

I purchased this phone for my 13 year old daughter, as a Christmas gift. She love her phone. Through Virgin Mobile we purchased a text messaging plan, So she can do all the texting she want without her having a Large phone bill or contract phone. I am really not ready for her to have a contract phone just yet. This phone is the perfect trial phone for her.

I love the texting-emailing and internet capabilities of the phone. I have not yet had any dropped calls or lost service. The only thing that I don't like is the ringer is not very loud and the reminder beeps only last a few minutes.

I like the fact that it came immediately without having to pay high priced shipping. the phone was in great condition. It came as described and was in great working condition. The phone was carefully packaged and when opened, I was pleased with it's overall display. there was little to none cosmetic damage on the phone. I was able to put my existing service on the phone without any issues. Overall, I think that this was a great deal and enjoyed the shopping experience.

I Love This Phone (Kyocera WildCard M1000-VirginMobile)

The Wild Card M1000 by Kyocera is a lot like have a Jr. Smart Phone, if you like to txt or have to txt a lot, this is the phone for you, it isn't a slide out, but, it is a Clamshell QWERTY Keyboard, that is so easy to use a child could figure it out,it does make the phone a little on the thick side approx. 3/4"-1", but really not much different then a Palm or BlackBerry, only shorter, it has dual LCD screens, it has Auto Texting, Voice Recognition, IM, E-Mail,Picture Mail, Blue Tooth, 1.3 MP Camera w/flash, Hearing Aide, Headset Sound which is great if you wear a Blue tooth headset a lot and you are 5-25ft away from the phone you hear all the alerts through the headset no the phone, i have personally used all of the fore mentioned and after having 20-25 different phones over the last 15yrs. this is my favorite in every way, it has 100 other uses and options and settings i am still getting to know, It is also a Qualcomm 3G CDMA which i didn't know when i bought it, it trully is a Jr. Smart Phone. The Speaker phone on this is exceptional, it is the 1st phone iv'e owned, where having a speaker phone was an asset, it is loud and very clear, no echo or back noise, it makes it very easy to be doing something else while on the phone, none of my other phones, smart phones, PDA's, could measure up to this one, i have yet to find 1 option w/the Kyocera Wild Card M1000 that wasn't above standard in every way, the only thing that this phone is missing is an SD slot for additional storage, if it had that then i believe Jr. here , would be a thing of perfection & beauty, it is very good looking and the size is perfect for the hand for texting and taking pictures etc. This is 1 phone you will be very happy with, and coming from me that is saying a lot, I'm even starting to enjoy texting, 2 weeks ago i would have rather gone in for a root canal, if you are considering this phone, STOP!& BUY IT!

Virgin Mobile's BEST Pre-Paid Cell (could be better)
Review created: 03/11/09
by:
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Let me start off by saying I have owned 4 different cellphones with full keyboards. LG Voyager, Motorola Q, Verizon (UT Starcom) XV6700, and AT&T Fuze (HTC Touch Pro). For a Pre-Paid cell this is a great choice, and it will surely do a good job for texting. But if you plan to browse the web, check e-mail, use MySpace or Facebook, or listen to music, then this will not work for you. The Mobile Web browser on this phone is the same as all there lower end phones and cannot properly display most websites. There is no MP3/Music/Video player, and the only way to listen to any music is to have someone text it to you. Virgin has disabled any Internet Downloading unless you buy the media through the Virgin XL service. You can use it for E-mail, but only if you have a Yahoo! or AOL Email address, but don't expect to download any attachments besides sounds or pictures. The dual screens are a nice touch, but they are small and the phone would benefit more from a larger single screen with a sideways sliding keyboard. The Bluetooth on this phone is rather weak, and very limited to only a Ear Piece so you won't be able to link up to your friends phones or a computer. The keyboard layout is rather odd, placing the navigation pad in the middle, making your thumbs reach awkwardly to the sides for certain letters or symbols. The menu lacks any newer features that older or lower end Virgin phones, and you can't change the theme or colors either. My final thoughts on this phone are.....If you have a young teenager who likes to text and you dont want to risk getting a contract and wind up with a huge bill then this would be a good choice, but if you are looking to get a high end phone with a keyboard and alot of cool features like most of the new phones you see from the big 3 (Verizon, AT&T and Sprint) then you will be highly dissapointed and end up buying something else in a month.I hope this helps you decide.
