Kung Fu Panda (Blu-ray Disc, 2008, Widescreen)

This is a fantastic story of overcoming great obstacles that anyone can learn a lesson from. Po, an overweight Panda, works every day in his family's noodle shop. His Father, Mr. Ping (voice of James Hong) eventually wants Po to take over the noodle shop, but Po has larger dreams. Little does he know that somehow fate will somehow befall him. He is soon chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy. Po joins the world of Kung Fu and begins to train with the Legendary - Furious Five - Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper, and Monkey. Shifu is the Kung Fu Master and wise trainer. Many events try and keep Po from becoming a true Dragon Warrior.

The tortoise Master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim) has a premonition that the evil snow leopard warrior Tai Lung (Ian McShane), the former student of his own protégé, the red panda Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), will escape from prison and return to threaten the Valley of Peace.

The Five battle Tai Lung but are eventually defeated. All except Crane are paralyzed by a special nerve-striking technique, and he manages to carry his friends back to the valley. When they return, Shifu decides Po is ready to open the sacred Dragon Scroll, which promises great power to its possessor. However, when Po opens it, he finds nothing but a blank reflective surface. Stricken with despair at the scroll's apparent worthlessness, Shifu orders his students to lead the villagers to safety while he stays to delay Tai Lung for as long as he can. Po meets up with his father, who tells him the secret ingredient of the family's noodle soup: NOTHING! Things become special, because people believe them to be special.

Lots of action My kids enjoyed it as much as i did you could watch this movie over and over lots of fun

I like the clarity and detail the movie brings out of all the characters. The sound is great also. I also like that the disk are a little harder to scratch than regular dvd's.

Light and funny, great for children and adults too. The Blu-Ray color and sound is great, many added features. Recommended for children from 2 to 92

The first few minutes I peeked into this movie showed how well this bluray computer generated animation film can image on a HD set...the characters backgrounds and scenes looked exactly how film makers saw the scenes unfold on their computer screens, it made you wonder how many graphics processesors you'd need to get the same image quality animation with a standard PC> It might not come close to what we have available for PC animation, but it sure does use the full potential of our displays that mimics that processing power!

It's really nothing to throw at Madagascar, Over the Hedge or any of Pixar's CGI animations but it's something different and a little interesting. Jack Black's talent for being hilarious is absolutely depleted in this film. I wish it to be more engaging and better supporting characters (more voice talent gone to waste). The feature film didn't get me excited for the Secrets of the Furious Five which I believe it should have. Both are enjoyable, but just nothing spectacular.

A wonderfull movie the whole family can enjoy. Jake Black and Dustin Hoffman really brought this movie to life with there voices. You could imagine them actually doing all these things in real life.

It is an adorable movie. The whole family loves Kung Fu Panda. We decided to buy it because we saw it at the theaters and enjoyed it so much we had to own it.

This is a great family film. A kung fu comedy for everyone, I was unable to recognize the voices of the characters and was surprised to find out Lucy Liu, Jackie Chan, and Seth Rogen had voice roles in the credits. The blu-ray disk really brings out the best of this film as well. Every little detail was seen in a stunning 1080p, but you dont need a high def tv or player to enjoy this film because watching a regular dvd will still make you laugh with delight when you watch this movie.

The DVD is awesome...the blu ray DVD quality is worth watching...cannot do justice by describing in words. The movie has a good story line with a very positive moral. A movie for all ages!!!

If you are a fan or Jack Black, or just like Children's/Family Movies, get this movie! Jack Black is the perfect actor for Po, the Panda who has always dreamt of learning Kung Fu. The problem is that his father wants him to continue the family business, but he can't stand doing it. Jack Black is also surround by other big names in hollywood such as Angelina Jolie and Seth Rogen.

Out of all the animated blu ray releases this is easily one of the best. The picture quality is flawless. On my 60 inch sony its plain incredible. The picture pops at you, like 3-D. What about the movie? Well the movie is excellent as well. I enjoyed it as an adult. Any kid would love it. I highly recommend this to anybody looking to ad a beautifully animated blu ray movie to their collection.
