TOP QUALITY COFFEE & ESPRESSO MAKER!

This is the king of combination coffee/espresso makers!

First of all... it has a sleek, clean design and doesn't take up much counter space.

Then... the owner's manual is easy to understand and the machine is easy to use. In no time at all... you'll be brewing gourmet quality coffee and espresso.

And... this machine brews hotter than any machine I've used. Not only does it make excellent espresso... it makes the best coffee I've ever tasted (the heat really makes a difference).

Finally... the machine is easy to clean and maintain... but... if you have any issues... the manufacturer's warranty is excellent and it's easy to get service at any authorized KRUPS service center. So... be sure to register your machine online for full warranty coverage.

If you get a chance to buy this item for less than $300... don't pass it up!

Happy Brewing!

Please, Please avoid this product. Horrible support

I purchased this product new and from the start I've had little issues. The espresso side of the machine has worked well for the first few weeks so far, but the coffee side is another story. The coffee carafe is too short to open the drip-stop valve that stops the flow of coffee so you can pour a cup while coffee is still brewing. This results in the coffee basket overflowing everywhere unless I physically hold the carafe up against the basket to open the flow valve. This could be either one of two things, either the lid on the carafe is malformed and not tall enough or the trigger on the drip-stop valve is not extending low enough. Either one could be a cheap easy fix for Krups simply by sending me a replacement part. Krups ONLY remedy is for me to pack this one week old machine up and mail it from Texas to California to a service center where it will remain for weeks. The Illinois service center is so backlogged, they aren't taking service issues. This is completely unacceptable. I have spent an hour searching the internet for management names and contacts, but this company hides behind it's web site. The only contact is through the site and frankly, I'm not impressed. This is a privately owned company that feels it's not accountable to the US consumer. Had I known this prior to this purchase, I would have let someone else deal with these (Adam Henry's).

Please, understand I'm not a complainer, but I do expect reasonable support for such an expensive item. Krups, as a company, has a long way to go to gain my respect. This will be the last product with the Krups name you'll see in my home.

Easy to use, easy to clean. Brews a great cup of coffee or espresso. I only wish it was a 12 cup , it is only a 10. I always buy Krups and I highly recommend this product.

This is a very good coffe maker. The only thing thats bad about it is the pot that comes with it. You have to poor the coffee out very slowly or it will drip out the sides of the pot onto the floor or counter. It is a bad pot design.

  Big waste of money

Bought the new at bb&b, it worked great for 5 months, but now it will not make espresso, the lights just flash and unit beeps but no espresso. Called Krups and was told to mail it the Long Island (at my cost) to have it repaired. It is a nice machine to look at but it wont last. I would like the people that sent in good reviews to do a follow up in a few months. Save your money.

  Hugh's Krups XP2070 Review

I like this as a combo unit so it takes up less space. However, the coffee pot at 10 cups is on the small side compared to my Pro-Aroma at 12. I also do not like the timer function. It is not as easy as just pressing the button to enable the timer to have coffee already brewing when I wake up in the morning. You need to go through several step walking through the entire process of setting the time for the coffee maker to turn itself on and its a badly engineered system. Most people get up at the same time every mornng and this is an extra few steps I can do without.

This machine is fantastic IF IF IF you do not get a lemon. I lucked out. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my machine and it makes incredible espresso and as promised, "perfect" froth every time. I wouldhave paid the the $350 that this machine sells for but luckily I didn't have to. I will tell you that my Dad has this same machine and his has a water leak that some people have complained about. It is not a big leak (maybe a tbsp)but I could see why that would annoy people ho paid good money and can't get good customer service. His machine also varies the amount of espresso that it puts out each time and when filling 2 shot glasses will occassionally fill them unevenly. That has never bothered me because my espresso goes straight into my drink cup. Some people have said that the coffee side does not allow you to pour while it's still brewing, NOT TRUE! The coffee and espresso are hot and good. But again, I would suggest buying this machine somewhere that will exchange it for you should you have anyof these issues. If you really want good espresso and can't afford the big names, this is the way to go.

  Not bad, but slow.....
Review created: 01/07/09
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I've had one for just about 13 months. the coffed side makes very good coffee, but the coffee maker is very very slow.......

The espresso machine makes good espresso, but takes a long time to warm up each time you make a shot. then, you never know how much is going to come out, one shot, less, or one and a half. Also, i guess it was the espresso tank on our began to leak and we started getting much less than a shot with clear water in the drip through tray. eventually the water shorted out the machine just after the warranty expired.

So all in all, without spendin over $500 this is not a bad machine. Just dont expect it to last several years, or make coffee as fast as commercial machines.

  Not a good espresso machine...

No matter how many times the espresso shot amount is programmed, it produces the wrong amount at least half of the time. Usually, it's on the high side. I've contacted Krups and they have absolutely terrible product support. I thought maybe I just had a lemon but I've returned my XP2070 to Williams Sonoma twice and I've finally decided that they all do this. If you want espresso, get another machine.

I like the way you can set the timer for coffee and the look of the machine. However, the holes in the expresso cup are so tiny, the water came out so slow and didn't fill atleast a half cup of coffee. Water came out the back of the machine all over the counter. I returned it immediately!

I had broke my craft on my other coffee machine and had always wanted a top end coffee/espresso maker. This one also has a milk steamer. When I saw it in the store I knew it was the one. I looked at other reviews and it seemed to be a really nice one. I have been having fun with it. Thanks and buzz buzz

Krups XP2070 Espresso Machine & Coffee Maker
Review created: 04/11/09
by:

The results from this espresso machine are consistently excellent. I love the taste and creama from it. Because it is automatic, however, you must be consistent in your grinding and tamping. If you are using a chopping blade cutter/grinder, invest in a mill that grinds consistently. The tamper provided, is useless but will give a bit of time to get a proper one. If the grind and tamp is not consistent, then the amount of espresso will change between cups due to the automatic pump programming. The machine memory will make exactly the same amount of espresso each time according to the programmed amount you set if the grind and tamp are the same. I like this feature for convenience and consistency.
This machine has a relatively small water reservoir for the size of machine. And, the water catch tray is also undersized. This results in having to deal with water fill and waste while making only a couple cups of cappuccino. While this is manageable, it is annoying. Also, if you are going to make more than one double shot cappuccinos, all the milk needs to be steamed at one time in a larger pitcher because the machine will only go into the steam setting one time without cooling back down to the brewing temperature in between. This, too, is annoying if you are used to having full control of your machine. To do the cooling, the machine uses more water which ends up in the waste tray and effectively limits how much cappuccino can be made without refilling the water and emptying the waste water tray.

The machine is bigger than my old Krups 863, but not by too much. It does take some counter space and is heavy enough that you won’t want to be moving it around. Unfortunately, to fill the water tank, the machine cannot be sitting under a common kitchen cupboard as you will not have enough space above to get the reservoir out to fill. So to avoid moving the machine around all the time, plan for counter space that is unobstructed above the machine. It does replace two other machines however so it does actually save some space.

The froth attachment has the small vent hole that allows anyone to perfectly froth the milk. You really have no choice whether to use it or not if you like to froth milk the “old fashioned” way. If you remove it, the steam spout is not long enough to go into a pitcher, so get over it and use the frothing attachment. It does work quite well. Also, this machine has enough pressure and heat that your milk will reach temperature quickly.

I must admit I haven’t used the coffee side of the machine much because the cappuccino is great. The coffee side does work well and has its own water reservoir. The filter latches in securely to make sure the coffee stops running out if you like to get that first strong cup before the pot is finished. There is a timer to have the coffee ready in the morning when you get up, if that is your lifestyle.

The Clock / Timer is not very convenient in that you must scroll through to the set time whenever you use it. It doesn’t remember when you set it, yesterday.

All in all, it is a nice machine and is easy to use for consistent flavor.

Good Mocha Machine for the value/Money
Review created: 03/07/09
by:

Well, I have to say being addicted to coffee heheh, this is a really good machine for making lattes, mochas and cappuccinos for what they are worth. I will say the only drawback I have found using this machine daily like twice a day is the pressure of the pump isnt strong enough to really get that rich flavor out in the coffee when its being brewed. Overall on a rating of 1-5 and 5 being the best I would give this machine a 4. Hopefully this review will help you determine whether this machine is worth spending the money for or not.

My wife loves her cappachinos (sp?)and I love the expressos and it does it very well.
We get the Starbucks flavors from ebay and use them to make the same as you would buy.
I use the coffee maker side of the machine for my regular coffee in the morning and it works great also.
Only drawback is that you can't use both sides at the same time.
