This is a great coffee maker! A relative in Germany had one, and I loved the coffee made in it. It operates differently from others, as the water is heated below the canister, then goes up to the top and is forced under pressure through the coffee grounds. You do need GOOD coffee, of course, but this machine can bring the best flavor out of the coffee. And you can brew it quite strong, which is how I like it.
The filter papers are probably not available in most stores, so you need to be sure you have a supply on hand.
It does not have an automatic shut off, timer, or pause-n-pour, but I was willing to sacrifice those conveniences to make some good coffee at home. If you leave the canister in place to keep the coffee warm, it will not burn - in fact, it doesn't keep it quite hot enough for me, so I pour it into a coffee thermos.

Non toxic coffee maker.
) I was looking for a coffee maker that uses stainless steel for heating and storing the water because I don't want to drink plastic residues like bisphenol A . Not only does the Moka brew make excellent coffee, it is the only one I could find that uses non toxic materials.
