Krups KM7000 10-Cup Coffee Maker

There's definitely a learning curve after using the same Grind 'n Brew for 9 years, but once you get the hang of this coffee maker, it's very cool.
Pros:
- It's WAY easier to clean than my old Grind 'N Brew! Throw the used filter away, rinse out the pot, and voila! You're done!
- The coffee is definitely better tasting with the burr grinder in the Krups...slower grinding doesn't burn the bean while grinding. In short, the coffee tastes just like I got it at Caribou Coffee (my personal brand of choice). Yippee!!
- Coffee is hotter than it was in my old one, but that could just have been a gradual decline from wear over time that I didn't notice.
- More control over the brew...you can set the coarseness of the grind as well as the strength of the coffee you want.
- Very cool looking!
Cons:
- The carafe is kind of a tight fit under the filter basket. It doesn't just SLIDE in easily.
- The carafe also likes to drip when you pour if you go too fast (my old one did this too though).

It's the best and hottest coffee I have ever had from a home coffee maker.
It is not as heavy duty as I would like but that doesn't change the quality of the brew. I had read that it was a little complicated and that is true. Pretty much typical German over-engineering. However, I could still wrap my brain around it, and look forward to that fresh brewed pot when I get up in the morning. The biggest drawback is that I'm now brewing and drinking more coffee.

Starting the work day off is a 7 days a week task, I insist on a quality cup of coffee an this although a bit complacated ,at first, is certainly worth the effort,to learn to set up.Worthevery penny, an in these times we must count those also!!!!!!!!!!!!

Works flawlessly - makes a great cup of coffee. Coffee is the hottest I have ever encountered in any machine. I only wish it would grind a little finer - seems really coarse even on fine setting. Timer and electronics are very easy to master and use. A really fine product.

Anything better than the counter top coffee staining Cusinart machine. This one is really clean and makes excellent coffee.

Two people in my family had this grinder/coffee maker before me. They loved theirs and now I love mine. This machine only requires that you add water for your cup(s) of coffee. Since I don't share mine, it is set exactly right for me every time. This is the only one of it's type that I know of that lets you set your preferences for coffee exactly right for you. I grind my beans, but you don't have to. You can also use ground coffee.

I had a BRAND NEW Cuisinart Grind & Brew before this and I threw it in the garbage the minute the Krups arrived. They don't want me to review the Cuisinart for sure.

My only complaint with this unit is that it only comes in black. I wish they had white or stainless.

This unit is to replace a Cusinart unit that I have had for some time. I became tired of constantly having to clean the coffeemaker because their design allows all of the steam from brewing to come up through the basket and turn all of the ground beans to a sticky mess. The Krups eliminates this problem. Well though out and makes great coffee. The lid to the filter cone is pushed to the side and snaps back across the cone after the coffee is ground, before brewing. I am not sure how this will hold up long term as it is obviously a wear point. Given the choice between the two at this point I am very happy. No contest.

great coffeemaker...it is much better than I thought. Now I saved a lot money from going to Starbuck every mornings.

Great coffee maker. Just one demerit-the caraf spills on the sides of the spout if poured too quickly. Krupps needs to change the style of spout and lid!

My brother wanted a coffee maker for his birthday. I have a Cuisinart which is very hard to clean and very loud when it is grinding the beans. So after doing some research I bought this one and he seems to love it. I've read several things about how the cone shape filter makes a better cup of coffee, so I thought that this model was one of the better ones out there for price.

I was looking for another coffee maker with a coffee bean grinder combination. I had been using the Cuisinart model for several years. I disliked having to take the machine apart every day and clean each piece in order to make coffee. This Krups model was actually the only other one I could find. Boy, am I glad I did! Everything about this coffee maker is superior. Preparing coffee is much simpler, and the coffee tastes much better. The burr grinder is fantastic. I can choose how coarse or fine I want my coffee, as well as the strength of the coffee. The auto on feature is simple to operate as well. The one and only complaint that I can think of is that it has a 24-hour clock instead of a 12-hour clock. I think I can put up with this minor detail. I can't remember ever being happier with an appliance. I would absolutely recommend the Krups KM7000 10-Cup Coffee Maker to anyone who loves their coffee, and especially to those who prefer their coffee freshly ground.

This is a great coffee maker! It is the best I have ever had. It was sold to me as "new", however, there were coffee grounds in the coffeemaker when I went to use it for the first time. So whether it was a demo or used I do not know.

I bought it for my fiance for a Christmas gift-had tried several places and everyone was sold out. I found this one and I do mean one offered at Christmas.
I love the fact that only on E-bay could I find one.
Also, it is an awesome coffee maker-does everything. Great item for the coffee drinkers in your life. I would highly recommend this item to anyone who drinks coffee.
The main reason I bought it was because it has a built-in coffee bean griner in it, and the aroma is wonderful.
You can also set it on a timer and wake up to the wonderful smell of fresh brewed coffee.
If you are a coffee drinker, I HIGHLY recommend this item.
There isn't anything that I dislike about this great item.

Krups coffee makers have never disappointed me, so I just don't buy any other brand. This model is awesome. You can use it with whole beans, and the grinder works perfectly. You can program it so you get fresh ground coffee first thing in the morning, and you can choose the strength you want (super easy to program, too). It also works with coffee that is already ground if you prefer, it is simple to bypass the grinder. It makes a better cup of coffee than the premium coffee places do, in my opinion! Get this coffee maker!

This was shipped fast and was a great gift for my wife. Much better than Cuisinart. Best coffee at home!

I bought it for convenience sake of the self grind & brew feature. First time users make note that you must leave the lid ajar for the beans to brew or you will only receive boiled water in your carafe. Although the grinder is loud it makes a great pot of coffee. It has several settings for grinding the beans and how many cups you need to brew. It's difficult at best to take apart for cleaning. The carafe seems to leak a bit while pouring your morning java, pour over the sink. Other than these drawbacks I recommend it over the Cuisinart which must be cleaned daily because the steam gums it up. The lid does NOT detach from the carafe either. Enjoy your JOE!

Bought in April 2008 and have used it daily since its arrival.

Also invested in a washable Gold mesh filter that was the correct part number to match the unit.

I am very satisfied with the maker. It is easy to wash and prepare for the next use. It is very universal with respect to strength of brew, cups, etc.
The maker has some short comings that I will pass on.

1. It does spit out some flakes of coffee grounds during the grind process. ( no big deal as I think you'd get the same or more if you used an electric grinder and transfered to the unit.

2. The marks to indicate the cups of water need some sort of high lighting. If you are in low light cond it can be difficult to see the water level.

3. The worst peeve of the unit is the coffee pot for 2 reasons. They could/should have made the machine a 12 cup and the pot doesn't pour the coffee very well. It tends to slop some brew on the counter when the pot is being tipped. A better shaped pot would correct this.

4. It is tall, check for your dimensions.

All aside it is a good machine. I feel bad to beat it up like this but possible it will result in a better one some day.

I can say I am not disappointed.

I have had nothing but good luck with my Krups KM 7000. I have not had any problems with leaking or coffee grounds left on my counter.
I highly recommend this coffee maker. I have previously owned a Cuisinart Grind & Brew, it was extremely hard to clean. The Krups is easy to clean.
The unit is tall and will require it to be moved forward for water filling.

This "deluxe" coffee maker is a complete dud. Does not grind beans well, requires paper filters and the unit I received had a major leak. Every time I poured water into the machine, I had had water leaking out all over my counter.

Also, the unit is very complicated to use. The parts do not fit well together and the "filter cup" never seems to fit in correctly. Everything just seems to be a little off with this machine. Switch to a Cuisinart.

It does a great job of grinding and the coffee turns out very tasty, but there seems to be an inherent problem with tiny grounds leaking from the grinder during the grind cycly.
