Krups Espremio FNP111 Espresso Machine

This was the very first espresso machine I bought after deciding to upgrade from a mocha machine. All in all a good "starter" machine for new couples, new home-owners or college students.
Pros:
This machine is lightweight and is easy to use. Just fill the side tank, add coffee with the spoon provided, let it reach temperature and then the dial. Easy as 1,2,3! Large capacity "water catcher" grill on the bottom".

Cons:
The very first thing to break after just a few weeks was the little "handle" on the coffee holder, which is supposed to help you empty the used grains easily. it is ver flimsy so not exactly a great selling point.
The milk frother got a hole in it after about 5 months so that was the end of cappuccinos... again cheap materials were used to make this machine, so they do not last. After 1.8 years the dial broke... at first it became hard to turn and then it simply broke... this happened because the continual turning of the dial wore out the grooves on the inside until they were almost smooth. Not a very cleaver design at all!
The coffee itself was quite watery so you really have to put as much coffee as you can fit in order to get a decent espresso.

All in all it's an OK machine but should not be purchased with the expectation that it will last long!

The Krups Espresso Machine FNP111 is a different type of Espresso Machine with its 8 Bar. Generally Coffee Maker/Espresso Machine combos boil water at very high tempatures.You got a enormous amount of steam under presure. Most people don't like the loud noises these machines make. You really have to know what you are doing around thses machines in order not to get hurt with burns or boils. The 8 bar Espresso Machines are made differently. You have a chamber with 8 rings of metal inside to heat up the water and hold this high tempature for long peroids of time. Generally you can get 4 cups of espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, cocoas, and teas out of the machine.You make one cup at a time. There is no loud noises, or real hot surfaces to touch.Everybody gets a cup of espresso just the way they want it.
