Hip-hop's resident extraterrestrial Kool Keith reinvents himself yet again with KOOL KEITH PRESENTS THEE UNDATAKERZ. This time around, in the "horrorcore" tradition of Gravediggaz, Keith descends into the literal underground. Performing under the pseudonym Reverand Tom, and joined by cohorts the Funeral Director, M-Balmer, and Al Bury-U, Keith and his crew drop tunes that sound like the soundtrack to an episode of TALES FROM THE CRYPT. "Dark Space," "The Funeral Director," and "Grave Undataking" creep along to haunting strings and synthesizers as the twisted MCs explore blood-soaked, murky topics. But it isn't all cloaks and graveyards. A notoriously mischievous performer, Keith can't help but let his sense of humor escape on certain tracks, such as the album's lead single "Party in tha Morgue," and "For Whom the Bells Toll." And then there's "Morgue (K. Keith Mix)," an electrifying track that recalls the glory days of Keith's stint in the Ultramagnetic MC's.
