    I have owned this camera for over 15 years and I am thrilled with it. This camera has it all. You can take pictures manually or let it do it by itself. I take alot of shots of fast action and this camera can handle it with ease and with great results. I just bought a 100-300mm zoom lens for it. I can't wait to take pictures with it. For the money this is a great camera, why spend the big money on all those expensive ones when this one will do everything you need.

    This camera is a tank. I had one for ten years, and the only thing that stopped it was a dip in the ocean (oops!) Salt water scrambled the electronics. I recently bought another one, because the 3000i does something that none of the more advanced Maxxums will do: it accepts manual-focus lenses. I have a 500mm mirror telephoto with a T-mount adapter that I had not been able to use since my first 3000i went swimming. The 3xi and other, newer Maxxums will not open the shutter with a manual-focus lens, but the 3000i will.
