This item was purchased because of the quality of image after conversion. It presents the most bang for the buck, in terms of film scanners. Also, unlike some listings, it came with the photo software. The ease of operation surprised me.
The one drawback is that more slide/film holders (it only comes with one ea.) would speed up operations when, as in my situation, 1000's of slides need to be converted to digital.

) This product has one of the best price/quality ratio of any competitive scanners. While I haven't had the time to fully test this scanner; I owned the Minolta Dual II scanner and found it to be a good quality product. The Dual IV has better dynamic and shorter scan time as well as 16 bit output files. This can only make it better than the Dual II. I also like Minolta optics I have owned Minolta cameras and optics for over 20 years.
