This is an excellent 1:1 Macro lens. I've had it for about 8 years now and it performs flawlessly. I also moved it from my old film Minolta Maxxum 600i to the Digital Konica-Minolta 7D. Still an excellent performer.
The construction is rugged and size is relatively small. The front element is deeply recessed inside the lens chamber so there is no need for hoods and no flare issues unless you're shooting directly into the sun. The Autofocus is also very fast with it. I think it has both aspherical elements and LD glass. That's why the image quality is so good.
About the only negative thing I can say is that the limiter switch was very shabby and broke off. Now I use a pair of tweezers to switch to Macro Mode. However, that's after almost a decade of use and I could have fixed it easily. Just wasn't worth the effort.
If you need a longish Macro lens for your Digital Camera, this one is great because with the conversion factor it becomes like a 75mm Macro Portrait lens. Just great. Get it if you can find a good deal for it.
