Kodak EASYSHARE Z1085 IS 10.0 Megapixel

I was looking for a larger megapixel camera than what I had prior to this camera. (8mp) This Easyshare Z1085 Kodak camera is not as expensive as many with the same features and even has a few more features many other do not have. I give it a good plus or excellent minus for a rating.
Bad points:
This Kodak Z1085 camera, for me, only had one drawback.. the noise. It has a whirring sound as soon as you turn it on, not real loud but there just the same. At first it was very distracting and annoying; however, after using it several times, I can now ignore the sound knowing what the result of taking pictures with it will be.
Good Points:
The quality of the pictures more than makes up for the slight noise.
The Macro could be a little closer. You must be at least twelve inches away from the subject but so far when enlarged the picture shows great clarity up close.
It has a theater mode with no flash. Recently when we went to the theater, it picked up in very low light just what we were seeing on stage.
There is also a museum mode, again with no flash, great for not disturbing other people while enjoying and looking at great items.
There are 16 total modes in addition to video with sound on this model. Some of my other favorites are the: fireworks, candlelight, self portrait, snow, even nightime has 3 different modes.
The battery lasts a LONG time. I purchased a couple extra rechargeable batteries just in case I needed them for a recent wedding and a birthday party. So far I have only needed one battery per event. My last camera ate batteries so quickly it was scary, this camera does not. This is a BIG thumbs up for this camera in addition to the great pictures.
I also like that the batteries are RECHARGEABLE instead of having to purchase batteries constantly and throwing them away when they go dead.
It it lightweight, easy to carry and use.
So, overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this camera on picture quality and battery useage alone.

best camera ever! only thing is the hd video takes up a lot of space, but thats because it is such a good quality...thanx :)

I like the clarity of the photos. The batteries do not last very long though. I like the looks and feel of the camera.

My husband loves this camera!!! It doesn't have a view finder and it actually is easier to capture the picture you are trying to take. He has taking many pitures outdoors while hunting, etc. and the quality is exceptional!!!

I purchased this camera for a friend. She didn't start trying to use it until last month. The camera doesn't stay charged up. She has bought three sets of rechargeable batteries and after 3 or 4 pictures they are dead. She also didn't know it was a refurbished camera. I would be very careful buying a camera from this buyer. Read all the fine print. She paid over $100 and am very unhappy. She said she would never buy on e-bay again.

Everything about this camera is awesome. Even my snooty CLR friends were impressed with the hight iso capabilities. I use regular AA batteries, and they have lasted 8 weeks! Still going strong!! I have yet to take a bad picture. The smart capture feature is genius. This is a great little camera, and I am so glad that I purchased. I went ahead and got the warranty from Sqare Trade, and that makes me feel secure.

Great little camera, easy to use. Still need directions for some of the features. Only thing, when it gets too cold, it won't work. Safety feature? Maybe, but very inconvenient at the time. Would recommend this camera to one who is looking for something inexpensive, ready and easy to use.

So easy to use!!! Takes great pictures and the smart capture works great for those need to get pictures now!!!! Love kodak camara as i bought this one as an upgrade!!!! Wish it came with the rechargeable battery instead of having to buy one!!! Will cont to buy kodak products as they last and perform great!!!!

Very happy with purchase. Camera was as advertized and works very well. For an inexpensive camera I was suprised at the clarity of pictures taken in the lighting of a basketball game. My previous purchase of a digital camera several years ago didn't pick up the light well and we were disappointed in the quality of the pictures.

transaction was great and it was here fast. takes great pictures and is easy to use. it might be the recharable kodak batteries that i have but the camera eats through batteries like it's its job. other than that i love the camera and so does my wife.

Video recording is awesome, much much better 720p quality than aiptek, dxg, svp and the all brands like these, schenider zoom lens is the best for these price products, and the best thing is you can take a picture full manually, manual focus and the other things make the camera more professional, thank you.

I love the camera except for 1 small thing. It makes a humming sound while turned on. I discovered it's the image stablizer when on the continuous position. I changed it to the single position and it is not continuous anymore...only when you move the camera, you still hear a slight sound. Also, it does not have a separate view finder...only the LCD window...which is perfectly fine with me...I wear glasses and it was always difficult for me to see thru a tiny viewfinder window. There are tons of different things you can do with this camera. Very easy to use. Takes great pictures. I highly recommend it.

This is a nice camera but it doesn't come with a battery charger for the battery and it drains the rechargeable AA batteries after about 10 pics. My 3 yr old camera's battery charge holds better than this one.

All the features of this camera are awsome!!! Love it love it love it! and all of the extras are grate.

The camera takes great pictures, but you do have to get the battery pack or you will just eat batteries up. Very easy to use.

The camera is as expected and appears to work great BUT I expected it to use rechargeable AA NiMh batteries-WRONG!! The lithium batteries are 3.7 volt and the size is a little different than regular AA batteries. Nice if the manufacturer would mention this other than "alkaline batteries are not compatible". Oh well just Kodak trying to sell their batteries, just have to make the best of it.

I like the features of the camera but haven't had a real chance to play with it yet.

I think this is a great camera. It takes really good pictures. I have another Kodak Easyshare camera and it takes terrible inside pictures. The Z1085IS takes great inside pictures. I need a new camera, I decided to buy this one after reading the reviews on the Kodak website. I am well pleased with it's performance so far. Thanks

Camera is too complicated for a beginner. Close-up shots are nearly impossible to photograph clearly. Uses AA batteries which are very inconvenient and don't last for more than 6 photos in camera.
I am very disappointed in this camera.

The camera was just what needed for the price, the description was very accurate from the seller. I wood never have the money to buy a new one, bat buying it thru e-bay was very ease. tanks E-BAY.

This is a very nice camera.Lots of features and easy to use and get the hang of.Really nice quality photos.So far i really like this camera.I have not had the camera long yet but my wife and i both agree that this is a camera we would recommend to anyone looking for a good reasonably priced camera.

i thought it was one of those big camera like the nikon m6 but its pretty small like a digital camera. im not happy at all but the camera works jus fine
