Kodak EASYSHARE DX6440 4.0 Megapixel

This camera is great. It is user-friendly, of great quality, and takes great photos with a video mode. There are many scene modes to fit your needs. This camera is recommended for all who is just looking for a good camera that takes fabulous pictures.

Received this camera as a gift. It isn't so impressive to look at it, but the pictures are clear, with well-balanced color and brightness. The ease of download to computer with Kodak's "easy share" is perfect for anyone who might struggle with technical matters or computers.
We have used this camera for everything from family vacations to taking pictures for selling on eBay and it does not disappoint. The 4.0 megapixels are plenty for any novice or amateur picture taker. The memory card can hold somewhere in the range of 150 pictures. Batteries seem to be eaten by this camera very quickly, but we have found that with rechargeable batteries, it is not a major concern.
I don't particularly care for the Kodak picture editing software that came with the camera, but there are plenty of other photo editing products out there that can be used once the pictures have been downloaded to your computer.
Overall, this is a great little camera that can take a beating (we have 2 little ones that have knocked it around a few times and it keeps working) and take great pictures that download easily to the computer.
We will eventually replace the camera, but only because I want to get a higher resolution camera with a greater zoom.
For anyone that is looking for a good quality camera that is not too expensive but that will provide quality pictures, this is a good, safe bet.

I've been using this camera for 1.5 year now, and it's a very good one.

The PAS options are really nice on a suposedly fully automatica camera.
I really love the 4s shutter for dark place, especially with a tripod.

The pictures are nice, however spherical deformation is a bit present at the edges.
I took over 6000 pictures with it and it's still good as new(except battery pack) but that is understandable.

with good non rechargeble Lithium battery I can take around 150-200 pictures with mixed flash.

LCD resolution is also good compared to similar(MP/opt. zoom) kodak products from 2 years back.

I bought this camera for my mom and dad who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. I have one just like it. It is user friendly. I also bought a second one to have on hand for my family!

I purchased this camera replacing one just like it that I'd dropped. I love the ease of use and the size. It is just small enough for your pocket but large enough to feel like a real camera and not a toy. It has a very high quality glass lens that makes images equal to those made by higher end cameras. I had gotten very familiar with this camera and wanted one just like the one I'd broken. Since it is no longer made, I had to shop E-Bay where I found this one at a great price. The other great thing about this camera is the software that comes with it. Downloading photos from the camera, sorting, and printing them is a snap. This is the easiest photo software I've used. It is "stupid proof". I highly recommend this camera and am sorry to see it replaced. However, if the newer models are as good, then Kodak is on to something.

this is a Very good camera and is very easy to use. The camera is very affordable for a digital camera. This is a perfect camera for the beginner or someone who loves to take alot of pictures.

It takes fairly decent pictures, but to be honest I found the picture quality better on my 2.1 megapixel Canon, better lense I guess. The 6440 has a fairly flimsy case with the battery door being a weak point...mine lost a clip after a couple of months and now needs to be closed with duct tape. Pretty hard on the old AA batteries too. I'm moderately happy with the camera, but my next one won't be a Kodak.

I purchased the camera to replace one I let someone borrow. I love the fact that you can charge the batteries on the printer as well as the fact that it is a VERY user friendly camera. You can choose the photo(s) you want to print, place the camera on the printer, and simply press the print button. The only draw back is the camera itself is a bit bulky.

I bought the camera to keep in my car. I have one in my home, but sometimes forget to take it with me when I am going on a weekend outing. This is exactly like the one I already have, so I know how to use it without looking at the at manual. The wrist strap was missing, but I knew that before buying it.

I decided to purchase this because I liked the fact that you could print photographs without a printer, which meant anyone could use it including my son. When I got it in, I took several photos and was suprised how clear they were EVEN on the camera screen. The only thing that I don't like is that the battery door doesn't remain closed. For how high the quality of the camera seems to be, it's a shame that they didn't put the same quality on the battery door. Definitely recommend this camera, just make sure you have plenty of tape or rubber bands handy.

Best camera ever the average guy, or girly! Easy to use, takes FABULOUS pictures, and with the docking station...no worries about eating batteries! Dropped, and smashed my first DX 6440...was thrilled to find another! Can't go wrong with this digital! Love my EasyShare!

I bought a Kodak Camera a few years ago. It broke, and I sent it in under warrantee. They sent back a replacement that was a DX6440. This is a sturdy, substantial camera. So I bought a spare on eBay. I have a half a dozen that I use for work and vacations. I look for extra bases, printer bases and other accessories as well. I pay about $50 per camera or camera kit and have had a few weak and non0op's, but on average, they are very economical. I get the DX6440 and DX6445 models, or ones that fit the same bases.
Nobody else should buy these cameras. I want them all for myself!

Got the kodak easyshare camera for Christmas I absolutely loved it was very user friendly.I was amazed how wonderful the pictures came out. This camera honestly is better than anything out there ub the market.It's hard to find a camera with such great zoom I'm not talking about that digital zoom crap talking about real zoom.The quality of the product is great and the durability is excellent.A++++++

Have had ours for about 2 yrs and love it!! This little workhorse has many strong points: Lots of auto settings, including macro for closeups and sports for blur-free action shots * Manual settings if you prefer that * High quality, rich color photos * Super Easy to use. The ONLY weak point we found is the battery compartment door - which broke within the first 3 months. We just tape it shut and keep going.

our family all has a kodak camera we injoy sharing photos. i take our everyplace to shot pics. we love them. our ebay time that we have used is almost every night looking for different things. you cant beat ebay its fun you can see who your buying from. and we have had very little trouble from the site . i recomend ebay to every one ..

My wife bought one of these along with a printer dock when they first appeared on the market for $400 and never once regretted the price. She uses the camera in her volunteer work for "Paws with a Cause" (A nonprofit organization that raises service dogs for the handicapped) to take and print professional quality photos on the spot at fund raising events. She took the camera with her on an extended trip to Arizona and I never realized how much I missed using it. The camera is easy to use, reliable, and takes photos you never need to apologize for. It has been easy on batteries compared to other digital cameras I've owned. The only thing I would change about this unit is the mode selector. It is circular in shape and always has seemed awkward to use. Although the selector was engineered with a tab on the wheel to be used with the thumb, it has been my experience that two fingers are actually necessary to comfortably use it. Still, this fact did not deter me from buying two complete outfits on eBay, one for myself and another for our son, and all for less than half of the original asking price. In today's market this camera can not be beat for the money. I highly recommend.

I have owned a DX 6440 camera for over (2) yrs. and have had excellent results with it. When I saw this ad for the same model on eBay,I felt it was worthwhile to buy a spare camera. When I received it, I immediatly checked it out and found that it was VERY ERRATIC in its operation and tried to contact the seller right away. I waited several days for a response and when there was none, I left a negative feed back for the seller. After I left the feed back, the seller contacted me and said that they had been out of town, and that I had bid the price up too high and that they were not going to do anything about the camera, because it was my own fault that I had purchased it! My feelings are that eBay is not to blame, since this was a first-time seller and inexperienced with eBay. I felt that it was my duty to warn others of how these sellers do business!!! ferrisu
