I like a lot about it, it was my first digital camera...

It is very good for a beginner, the pics come out pretty good but not that in depth..

I sell a lot of watches and jewelry and you CANT NOT TAKE up close pictures with this camera, it comes out faded and blurry...

It is very inexpensive less than 69.99 at tigerdirect....

The features are very easy to understand and learn, if you are just beginning i would recommend this for you...

As far as the printer dock dont waste your money...I can print pictures on my printer for much cheaper than the cost of kodaks film kits..

GET A WARRANTY! THE CAMERA HAS A DEFECT THAT I HATE!!

THE BATTERY DOES NOT FIT IN THE CAMERA CORRECTLY!

IF YOU LEAVE THE BATTERY IN THE CAMERA FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME IT WILL BREAK THE CASING...Then you have to get it fixed, this has happened to me three times, Just take the battery out and reset your date/time every time you put the battery back in if you want to keep it functional..

Another thing I just about forgot, the videos this camera takes are very low quality but that is to be expected with 3.1 megapixels! Do not expect to get a very good video from this camera! The sound quality is much better than the video quality..Overall for the price it is well worth the money for a beginner who is only going to take everyday pics..Not for detailed pics at all...

I GOT TIRED OF THIS PROBLEM AND THE $20 BATTERIES THAT YOU SEEM TO NEED EVERY WEEK IF YOU TAKE MANY PICTURES, Also it is kind of hard to find the rechargable batteries and they are kind of high..I PURCHASED A FUJI FILM A600 AND I LOVE IT...GAVE THE KODAK AWAY....

  Great beginner camera!

After dropping 2 expensive digital cameras, I was put on a budget for my 3rd. After visiting Walmart, I decided on Kodak's EasyShare CD33 3.1.

This camera has been a Godsend. I have dropped it twice now with the lens OUT, and it is still working. **Not that I recommend dropping it**

Mainly used for taking pictures of my children, and my eBay listings this camera does remarkably well.

Taking pictures is pretty self explanatory, when using the dial to choose settings. I use the automatic setting, and the macro setting the most. Automatic does great for my clothing and kids. The flash works well for closer items. Macro does well also, but is a little tricky upon first using it.

It has a 3X optical zoom, which does well for pictures of things not more than 300ft away. Anymore than that and regardless of zoom your subject is about this "O" big.

The flash as I said before, does well with indoor and outdoor but only if items are not more than 30 or so feet away. On a recent camping trip, I tried to take pictures of a herd of deer no more than 150ft from me at dusk, and all I got was the whites of their eyes.

All in all, for under $100 this camera works well. Uploading pictures to your PC is easy and quick. Although I don't recommend Kodaks photo editing program that comes standard with this camera.

I hope this helps you on your quest for a new camera!

I bought it because i needed a digital camera.. I had another brand ,,much more expensive,, and it was lost..
This camera is good, overall.. It is compact, easy software to load in your computer.. picture quality is generally good...in daylight it takes great pictures.. During dark daylight or very cloudy skies even with the flash the pictures come out dark.. Indoors at night, depending on how much light there is,, the pictures can come out a little too light or too dark.. It does not work with some type of batteries Kodak recommends in there manual..It does have both digital and optical zoom lenses. They work fine..
The camera is at least as good as I expected .. A basic functional compact digital camera easy to use. Takes good pictures. And it is inexpensive.. The expert would purchase a more expensive camera. I would recommend this camera to anyone...

I was excited about getting the new camera. It came just as promised, on time and much earlier than I thought. Fairly easy to learn how to how to run. It is a little different than my last one. I love it and would buy from this vendor again. I very please with everything. Thanks for being honest and getting the camera here in nothing flat!!!

This is my favorite pocket camera. It goes with us everywhere. I have bigger cameras, and more expensive cameras, but none handier.

The resolution is fine for all your casual snapshot photos. Prints up to 5x7 are of standard photo quality. The display is of average size and bright enough to see in daylight. (In direct sunlight you will have to shade the display with your hand but this is common for all digital displays.) Since I use the optical viewfinder almost exclusively I don't find this to be a problem. (I have found that it is easier to review my photos from my PC, so while I tend to shoot a lot I do not waste time trying to review and edit on the camera display.) Battery life is good even with the display turned on. (Certainly better than on my battery eating Olympus.) The menu system is easy to navigate, but then I really don't use it much.

The lens is of excellent quality and the images have great color saturation. Auto focus on the camera is accurate and consistent, and easily turned off when you don't want it. Recovery time is short, so there is little waiting for the camera to become ready for the next shot.

The camera has a mechanical drive lens which works smoothly and quietly. We did jam the lens by dropping the camera, so durability might be an issue if you are a bit on the clumsy side. I suggest you use the wrist strap. (Jamming the lens gave us an opportunity to try out Kodak's service department. They were easy to deal with and everything went very well and we were back up and shooting in about a week.) We actually kept taking pics for a couple of weeks with the lens jammed. We just couldn't use zoom or retract the lens.

Kodak cameras have always been of pretty good quality and easy to use. This model is no different. Small enough for a jacket pocket or purse; you can whip this little camera out and have it turned on and ready to shoot in just a couple of seconds. It easy to hold, small but large enough to get a good grip on without blocking the lens with your fingers.

Overall just a great snapshot camera.

I thought I should share with ebay sellers considering this camera that it's close up photos are not sharp enough for listing. Also, this thing goes through alot of batteries.

It takes great pictures and is very easy to use. With a 1 gig card you can take over 1500 pictures or 45 minutes of video. Make sure to get a few rechargable batteries because it does go though them pretty fast.

We bought this camera for our 13 year old daughter, it was a birthday present. It is a great camera for a first camera. It is easy to use and takes great pictures! My daughter especially likes the all the options/scene modes that this unit is equipped with. I really like the ability to crop on camera. All in all, this is a great camera.

The camera had a few cosmetic flaws (which was described) but altogether is great. I bought it as a gift for my niece so it is her first digital camera. It looks like it will be great for a beginner. And for the price you can't beat it!

  Not a good camera
Review created: 06/11/08

laslinn ( 5 )

This is the 2nd one I bought (same model) and sent back that had the same problem. There are problems with the lens. The first one, the lens would "freeze up" after a few times of turning it off and back on again. When I emailed the manufacturer their response was, "just keep taking the batteries out and put them back in again" . . Wow, so that is how you have to "fix it"! I sent that one back to the seller and bought another one (thinking it was a fluke) that camera came and would not work at all, the message on the screen was "lens error" and when I took the batteries out and put them back in again, the lens would only open about 1/2 way and freeze up. When I emailed the manufacturer, they admitted this was inheritant with these cameras and suggested I send it to them to "look at" This camera is very undependable and I would not suggest purchasing one either used or new.

I droped my digital camera and broke the screen.I am getting a start selling and I am familar with its functions. I wanted an exact replacement and I didn't have a lot money. I am very pleased even though it is a used camera with wear. My biggest problem was affordability, and this camera will serve its purpose. Maybe now I can get a start on selling items so I can afford a new one. I e-mailed the seller with questions and they contacted me immediately!I hope I have as much luck with selling as I have with purchasing.

I like that this camera is small enough to keep with you at all times.
I don't like that the transfer cable is not a common size. This has a proprietary cable.
I decided to buy it because it was affordable, small and easy to use

  Kodak CD33 Lens Problem

The lens stopped retracting soon after out of warranty. It appears that this is a common problem with this camera. Other than that, it worked fine, but not working at all now.

The size is just perfect for a beginner camera, but this camera eats up battery life. We are constantly changing the battery, even having to recharge a rechargable more often. I probably would not recommend this camera to anyone.

  My thoughts on the CD33
Review created: 12/25/06

I bought this camera because I started selling on ebay. I had a very cheap Casio old and very used. But it took great close up pictures. This camera takes great pictures if your at least 3 ft. from subject. Got it at wal mart $118.00 and they said it would do close ups. Wrong, A lot of things I sell need very closeups, this camera is no good for that. Guess I need to shop for another camera. Havn't had trouble with battery life. Rechargeables work great, easy to download.

I bought this item as a gift. While I have not used this particular camera, I bought it because of the Kodak Easyshare I have. I have the Z700 4MP model, which takes excellent pro quality pictures. I have surprised many people by what my camera can do and I have faith in the Kodak Easyshare family.
