Kodak EASYSHARE 5100 All-In-One Printer

First off I love the fact that inks do not cost more than the printer to replace. I have Lexmark and go through about 5 to 6 black ink containers a month. At $25 to $35 a pop I was going nuts. This one costs me 10 dollars ( and cheaper sales are the way to go) per black and less for colour if I buy the 2 together.

Second the unit and software is very user friendly. If you have any issues, call Kodak. They were on the phone with husband for hours Trouble shooting. (not the fault of the unit. Husband forgot the golden rule with my PC when hooking up new hardware. DO A RESTART. )

Third pictures do not fade. I have tons of pictures on the "wall of Fame" (the refrigerator to the rest of you) and even in just a month's time the pictures printed off the Kodak have the same quality. The others from lexmark have a very "off" look to them.

For the price, even if purchased at full price at a store, they are well worth it. In ink costs alone you get your money back.

I have yet to try it on t-shirt iron on transfers but email me an I will let you know. I have a proud Grandpa that is demanding a brag shirt with this years Christmas pictures.

Buy it and enjoy it! I know I do. Believe me I am WAY picky:)

I've been using the Kodak 5100 for a few months now. My wife prints a lot of pictures with it and I can't tell a difference between them and pictures developed at a store. The cartridges seem to last as long as other printers I've had and are about half the price. It's given me absolutely no problems, love it!

Bought the Kodak 5100 and used it a couple of months. The ink ran out and we replaced the cartridge. The printer has locked up and sits on the floor in the corner of the room. We have thought about sitting a trash can on top of the printer but have refrained from doing so because it would be an insult to the trash can.

The Kodak 5100 all in one printer is junk. It will not print documents from Corel or Wordperfect. It does print nice pictures, but if you need an all in one printer, this is not it.

Inexpensive ink was the reason I bought this printer. Now I wish I would have gone with a Lexmark or HP. I will replace this "photo printer" with a true all in one printer soon.

I contacted the Kodak help via telephone and email. They were nice but no help. They were also hard to understand. They stated that I should just change all my documents to another program and try to print this way. The email said that this is a common problem and they do not have a solution for it yet, but thank you for purchasing the Kodak 5100 and if they could help in any other way, to let them know. Nice, but the problem was not fixed.

I feel like this printer is the worst one on the market. I do not recommend it to anyone who wants to print anything more than pictures.

UPDATE:
Kodak has fixed the error to print documents for Corel and Wordperfect with an update to their program. I now give this printer an average rating instead of poor. Ink goes quick but it is inexpensive.

This printer prints great regular paper prints, and excellent 4x6 pictures. they don't take weeks to dry. this printer also only takes two ink cartriges witch is outstanding. best printer i have had.

This printer works great. I don't know if it's just me or what, but I had to set up two of them and they were both a pain in the butt to set up. My in-laws bought exactly the same model and had me set it up. I had the same problem with both of them. I followed the instructions step by step and when it came time to turn it on the printer didn't recognize the ink cartridges. After taking the print head and the ink cartridges out about 10 times it finally recognized them. Like I said maybe I was unlucky twice or I just don't know how to install the ink (even though I put them back the same way every time). Other than that it's a really great product at a great price.

It does an absolutely wonderful job on all my work. I love the dedicated paper tray. And you can't beat the ink prices!
The only con is that it's a fairly big unit.

Mutiple options for the price, ink refills are very inexpensive, print speed is great, however the printhead was bad, but Kodak is replacing for free. Can't beat that.

This printer does what it is advertised to do. Makes great pictures and great printing. I can't ask for much more . It is exactly what I wanted.I had no problems setting it up.

Just got this printer hooked up to PC and it so amazing. I have had HP printers and I have had many but they can't even compare to this Kodak printer.
The picture comes out great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I decided to buy the printer because: #1 I have a Kodak Easyshare camera; #2 I needed a scanner. It works wonderfully and I was amazed at how fast the seller shipped.

I am very dissapointerd with this Kodak 5100 printer. The software does not work on a PC or IMac computor.

It was easy to set-up both physically and loading the operating drivers into my PC. The quality of copies are great and if it is as economical to operate as they state then I will truly be very impressed. I mainly do print copies and not photos so I cannot say anything concerning photos. Rich

Scans great, Copies great and prints Great.. Love the low cost ink...about time someone did something about ink cost.

I dont buy because the only for to buy it is paypall. I have a master card credit card percent lower than pay pall. i dont found the form to change the for of pay. I want to by it but with my credit card.

don't know seller refunded my money said print didn't have ink and supposedly didn't know were to buy it pretty lame excuse come on give me a break guess im glad for the refund probably was a piece of junk anyway and would of had to return it like the other people who bought from the same guy

I got this very fast and don't seem to have any problems.I got this because of the ads stating that it gets more photo's for the buck. I've not yet put it to the test but the idea of all of it in one is great.

I bought this printer for the convience of printing documents and photos. It started off as a gang buster. Perfect pictures great text printing. After 6 months though the printhead went bad. Called kodak about the problem had to go through all of their checks and balances wasted one color cartridge and 1 1/2 black running their diagnostics and head cleaning. One and half months later print head went bad again. Had to do the same process as before. Now in less than a year I'm having to replace the printhead again. I think I will ask for a new printer or refund. Not work the hassel and headaches to go through the wasting of ink and performing all of their required tests.

this is quite a nice printer,makes excellant photos ,let a lone standard copies being color or black and white.

This printer is an excellent printer/copier/scanner. I have used it to copy files and forms for school and to copy and print picture. They have all turned out beautifully. The printed forms were clear and neat..excellent quality and the pictures were beautiful. I was very impressed with the brightness and clarity of the pictures.
The price of the ink is so much cheaper than for the other printers I am amazed at the money I save just on ink alone. The printer will pay for itself in no time.
I feel I have made an excellent choice in purchasing my Easyshare 5100.
I would recommend this Kodak Easyshare 5100 printer/copier/scanner to anyone who is looking for a high quality machine.
