Basic newbie info, techie enough for advanced users
I'm exploring alternative computer operating systems and the "Dummies" series of books have served me well in the past. The Knoppix editors made sure the writing style is reader friendly. The book is organized in such a way that you don't have to read it cover to cover. It's easy enough for a beginner to learn the basics but has many tips and tricks for the advanced user. It also comes with a companion Knoppix Live CD. As of 3/08 Knoppix is up to Version 5.1.1 so the companion CD (4.x.x) is a bit dated and the info in the book is geared towards that 4.x.x CD. But don't let that stop you from learning about a great Windows alternative. Moving from 4.x.x to 5.1.1 will be a piece of cake.
