I already knew how to knit but I knew only the basics. As I tried different patterns and techniques I was abe to find them in this book. They were very easily explained. I am now doing all sorts of complicated patterns and am able to finish sweaters etc. There are also many helpful tips that they don't tell you in patterns or knitting books. I think someone could learn to knit from this book. There are also patterns from very easy to more complicated. I highly recomend this book.

I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN HOW TO KNIT,I BOUGHT THIS BOOK IN THE HOPES OF TEACHING MYSELF HOW TO DO THIS WONDERFUL SKILL, AS THERE ARE MANY MANY BOOKS OUT TELLING YOU HOW TO DO THIS AND DO THAT, THEY WAS CONFUSING TO SAY THE LEAST.... THIS BOOK IS GOOD AND VERY THROUGH. I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED LOOKING THROUGH IT AND I HAVE YET TO SIT DOWN AND ACTUALLY DO IT. I DONT ANTICPATE ANY PROBLEMS AS I HAVE LOADS AND LOADS OF PICTURES TO HELP ME THROUGH IT,,,,,DOTTERS

This book explains alot of the stitches and steps used in knitting. The patterns could have a few more pictures, but the book is about teaching not showing patterns. Pick this one up with a book of easy patterns if you want to knit. Its more of an encyclopedia of knitting. I recommend adding it to your library but don't plan on this as an all in one book.
Note: There isn't enough information about felted knitting in the book for my taste, but I found some great info online.

This book is exactly what I wanted. It's easy to follow instructions and diagrams help the beginning to advanced knitter. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting more information about knitting.
