A Knight's Tale (DVD, 2001, Special Edition)

This classic movie shows the struggle of a boy coming from poverty and grabbing life by the horns to change his outcome and make a better life for himself. Along the way he meets up with a few of the funniest characters in medieval times and falls in love with the princess he would not be allowed to court if he was a lowly peasant......which he actually is. Don't want to give away too much. There is enough action & comedy in this movie to keep even the manliest men watching but the plot of the love is enough to keep the women watching as well. Heath Ledger gives an absolutely awesome performance! The soundtrack is Excellent as well and totally does not fit the movie but somehow does all the same, you will understand when you watch the movie. HIGHLY recommend this movie. You can find it here on eBay for around $5 total with shipping, don't pay more.

As a Mom of the 3 boys I can honestly say the entire family loved this movie. My boys are all into swords and this movie held their attention. The humor kept my husband and I watching it again and again. Women will enjoy the romance as well. This is one of those movies that woman and men will both enjoy. I would advise parents watching the movie first there is brief, modest nudity and some mild language.

What I like about this movie is HEATH LEDGER! (God rest his soul). This movie is a comedy about a poor lad, who, unhappy w/ his station in life, finds the girl of his dreams, and changes his destiny by pretending to be a knight. He chases the girl, and comedy ensues. The supporting cast is genius and hilarious! Fun for the whole family! 4 stars....

This movie was spiced up with a playful blend of action, thrills, and humor. This Medieval adventure was accompanied with an upbeat, rocking musical selection, that created an unexpected mood to it, with an added twist of fun.

The storyline was about a motherless peasant boy that overcame his social status, changed his destiny, and became a royal Knight. Even if it was by default!

In reaching his goals...he and his traveling companions create a very exciting adventure that will be sure to charm everyone.

Heath Ledger was excellent in his role. A must see!

The thing I love about 'A Knight's Tale' the most is the mesh of modern music and medieval times. I also love how the announcers present their knights. And of course, the costumes are very interesting. I think this movie is a great watch, especially if you're looking for a more masculine romantic comedy. This is a great movie!

Funny, dramatic, wonderful Mid-evil tale set with modern day music!! A great movie for the whole family, even though there are a few scenes that might not be good for pre-teens. The movie has a fast pace with a lot going on. The characters inter-act well and have a great time together. And then there's the sweet wonderful actor Heath Ledger who definitely steals the show! A must see for young and old alike, and one you'll want to see more than Once!

I bought this because it complements the unit I teach on the Renaissance and it appeals to younger audiences.

I decided to buy this movie because I enjoy movies from this time period.This one was quite different than most movies based on this time.This movie was very interesting and entertaining and full of laughs.The acting and the story were both far above average and the movie flows evenly throughout.This is one of those feel good movies that does not come across as silly and keeps you smiling.Regardless of your mood this movie would be entertaining for about anyone and was well worth the purchase price and your time to watch it.

Very good movie with Heath Ledger. this movie is taking place in early times and shows the support and lengths he went through to become a knight and the hardships that fell upon him and his men. this movie i say is extremely well done, the acting is great and the point that was being show was well taken. i say this movie needs to be watched by many and placed in any collectors collections.

i love this movie and i bought it in memory of heath ledger that died this year he was one of my favorite actors. it was in great shape and i loved it.

I liked this movie on TV. I liked the historical aspects and the "music" mixed in. And Heath Ledger was perfect in the role.

I think this movie had it all. An updated sound track which I'm listening to while writing this review. I just had to have it after seeing the movie. Yes,which I purchased from a great seller on ebay. Now back to the movie! It has humor, adventure, romance, dance and a sense of family. Don't forget the villian, there's alway's a villian. The thing about the movie that is so great is there isn't to much of any one thing. So pop some corn and sit down with the family and see what you think!

This movie is so much fun from beginning to end. The writing is superb. The characters are very well played. This is a movie I can see again and again and enjoy it more every time.

Inspired by "The Canterbury Tales," "A Knight's Tale" the story of a 'commoner' who goes against the rules of society, and must masquerade as a knight to fulfill his dream of jousting. Along the way he discovers friendship, love, the very funny Geoffrey Chaucer (Paul Bettany), and the importance of honor.

The opening sequence (It will Rock You!) is probably the funniest thing in the movie... but, overall, it was very enjoyable. Even the kids liked it (though there is one -ahem- romantic scene to fast forward through, if you are watching it with youngsters). The movie is full of eye candy for the ladies- Heath Ledger as the Knight, and yummy James Purefoy as Edward, Prince of Wales. :-) I recommend it.

Excellent movie if you like stories about the days of the Knights. This one has a more modern spin on it. It also shows the unselfish love of a father who gives his Son up at a young age to follow his dreams along with a beautiful love tale.

We love this movie! It's a great family film except there are a couple scenes with a rearend exposed. "Changing your stars" has become a favorite phrase at our house. This movie teaches you that you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to.

Great action, costuming and a whole new approach to knights of the rhelm and their spare time activities! Grest contemporary music in period fashions! Writing is superior with appropriate use of cliches. Fun, even if you don't care for medievil productions. In otherwords, try it you'll like it!
