  Love this movie!

This movie is just good all around. Has enough of a love story for the chicks, just enough action and comedy for the guys, and there is nothing in it that you don't want your kids to see.

  Fun movie!

I bought this dvd when it first became available. It is an incredibly fun movie! Good story, good music, funny lines... I never tire of it. On Blu Ray it makes a good movie even better to watch!

ITs a great movie with lots of action, and comedy mixed. Also some good classic rock mixed in. Great realistic settings of how it was in those times. also with blue ray makes the picture even sharper and colors much brigher. definitly a must buy movie.

Good transfer, but it won't blow you away.
Review created: 05/10/07

I won't discuss the film itself, as others have done so, and this is one of those love-it-or-hate-it movies.

The Blu-Ray transfer on this one is above average, but not jaw dropping. Much improved detail and color make it a significant step up from the DVD version, but it doesn't have the "wow" factor compared to some other Blu-Rays. The 5.1 audio is good, but again, nothing amazing.

If you like the movie and own a Blu-Ray player, this one is worth picking up.
It looks and sounds above average, but isn't going to be the disc you pop in to show off your HDTV.

Striking contrast of the era of knights and music
Review created: 03/03/07

One of the better movies we've seen in awhile. It is one of those feel good movies where the underdog comes out ahead. The contrast of Ancient times and modern music strikes an eclectic contrast that comes out very well. Worth seeing again.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's amazingly done. It combines the middle ages with present-day music. It really brightens up the movie.

The movie starts with William Thatcher, a poor squire, who has always dreamed of being a knight. When he gets the chance to disguise himself as a knight, he takes it. He decides to maintain his false identity for as long as he can. With the help of his friends Wat, Roland, and Geoffrey Chaucer he is able to pull it off. He creates a new name for himself, Sir Ulrich of Liechtenstein, he wins tournaments and awards. To prove himself truly noble he must beat an arrogant knight Count Adhemar in a series of jousts. We also learn that William's father gave him up in order for William to find a better life. He and his father are able to reunite in the movie. It is quite moving, it makes me cry everytime I see it.

The cast is excellent in this movie, the cast includes: Heath Ledger, Paul Bettany, Alan Tudyk, Mark Addy, and Rufus Sewell.

This movie is also loosely based on Geoffry Chaucer's book Canterbury Tales. That's where one of the character names comes from.

I recommend this movie to anyone.
