The Promedia Ultra is simply an awesome system. In pure terms of audio quality there is not a thing that really compares to it at its price range in both the multimedia category, and the home audio category. I cannot understand why Klipsch quit producing them. The GMX has nothing on it or its lesser Promedia sets. For as good as the Promedia Ultra's are, there are a number of draw backs to this system. One, they are getting difficult to find these days. There are no new ones really. The second draw back, and the most problematic is that this sytsem accepts no modern digital inputs. A Digital converter can be purchased but the price is quite high. That is where the logitechs become competitive with this system. They do support a full array of modern and digital inputs, which allow them to be connected to a variety of setups, not just a computer system. But in terms of sound quality, these are unmatched in this range.

Ultra 5.1's were one of the best PC Speakers ever. BUT1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
I am not going to cover e-bay bought stuff, eBay is eBay and you can and will get stung.
I got my set of the Ultra 5.1's from the factory they were refurbished. I love them; they are the best I have ever had.
Until 2006 they were the best 5.1's on the market. However, the Logitech Z5500's are better. IF you can get a set of Ultra's 5.1's for no more than $175 bucks, DO IT. IF you have to pay more than that go with the Logitech’s.
The Ultra's are a fabulous speaker however their was one fatal flaw. The Bash Subwoofer blew out. It happened to me after 5 years it WILL happen to you.
Klipsch is the best of companies and the worst and worst of companies. When they came out with the 4.1's they were swamped with orders. They never really caught up, at times they were a pain to deal with.
IF the Ultra's did not have the SW flaw, and Klipsch offered them at $200.00 they would still rule; but alas they don’t.
Bose is overrated, and if you buy less than the Logitech’s, you are more worried about money than sound.

Awesome Surround Sound Speaker System!Review created: 05/30/09

) This is by far the most professional grade 5.1 surround sound speaker system that I have ever had the pleasure to listen to. I am very impressed with the power of this seemingly small system. The highs and lows and the bass is almost like being inside a real theater. I had been told that this was an extremely nice system, but I have to admit that I have been really surprised by its performance thus far. If anyone is looking for a QUALITY 5.1 surround sound speaker system, you can't go wrong with this one. Just make sure that you have a GOOD sound card. If not, you will definetly want to invest in one.
